Disney Dining Plan Guide: 2026 and 2027
On This Page

Dining plans area way of adding food and drink onto a Disney World holiday booking. There are different types of dining plan and the type you choose shapes your dining experiences around the resort. Dining plans are an optional extra that can give you peace of mind around food costs, but I can’t stress enough that it is possible to do a Disney World Holiday without having a dining plan. Dining plans aren’t needed and for anyone who is a light eater, the amount of food on offer can feel overwhelming. Dining plans don’t come in a one size fits all shape and there are different options to choose from depending on whether you’re booking a 2026 holiday or a 2027 holiday.
What’s a Dining Plan?
A Disney Dining plan is a pre-paid meal package all Disney Resort Hotel guests can choose to add on to their Disney hotel stay. There are two different dining plan options for 2026 holidays and 3 different dining plan options for 2027 holidays. From 2027, there is a Deluxe Table Service Dining Plan that gives UK visitors more sit-down meals as part of the package, an option that will change how you tour the parks.
What’s The Difference Between Dining Plans?
The main differences between dining plans when you’re looking to book comes down to whether you have table-service options included or not, and if you choose to have table-service meal options in 2027, how many meals you want to be table-service experiences.
Dining Plan | Cost | Meals Per Night | Locations to eat |
|---|---|---|---|
Disney Quick Service Dining Plan (2026) / Quick Service Dining Plan (2027) | £49.99 per adult, per night £19.99 per child, per night | 2 quick service meals with a drink 1 snack 1 resort mug | 90+ |
Disney Dining Plan (2026) / Table Service Dining Plan (2027) | £76.99 per adult, per night £24.99 per child, per night | 1 table service meal with a drink and starter or desert 1 quick service 1 snack 1 resort mug | 170+ |
Deluxe Table Service Dining Plan (2027 bookings only) | £124.99 per adult, per night £35.99 per child, per night | 2 table service meal with a drink and starter or desert 1 quick service 1 snack 1 resort mug | 170+ |
The differences in 2026 dining plan options
The key differences between the two 2026 options are:
- cost: quick service is £27 per night cheaper for over 10s and £5 a night cheaper for children
- 80+ more dining options to choose from with the table-service dining plan
- the option to go to a sit-down dinner daily, but this also requires considering tipping and for reservations to be made, both of which you don’t need to do with the quick-service option
The differences in 2026 dining plan options
In 2027, the differences remain the same as in 2026, only now you also have:
- 3 full meals in a dining plan option for the first time
- cost: It’s £48 more per person over aged 10, and £11 more per child aged 3-9, to have a deluxe table service plan thana table service plan, the price difference between table-service and quick service stays the same.
- how you eat: whether you sit down for none, one, or two meals a day.
What is Disney’s Quick Service Dining Plan?
The Quick-Service Dining Plan includes:
For a 7-night trip you'll get: 14 quick service credits, 7 snacks, and 1 refillable mug to use for the whole of your stay.
This is the most affordable dining plan option for UK travellers, but it only includes meals at Quick service locations. This type of meal plan does not need you to budget for tipping because there is no character dining or sit-down dining included.
If you're looking for a UK comparison for both dining experience and ordering process, think ordering at Five Guys or McDonalds.
What is the Disney Dining Plan / Table Service Dining Plan?
The Disney Dining Plan / Table Service Dining Plan includes:
For a 7-night trip that’s: 7 table service credits, 7 quick service credits, 7 snacks, and 1 refillable mug.
This is the Disney Dining plan option that will give UK guests the best value overall, and is the option to choose if you want to have Disney character meals included in your food package. With this type of meal plan, tipping is not included in the cost, but tipping is expected at table-service locations.
Table-service dining is the UK equivalent of a waiter service meal. The level of formality and experience varies with table-service meals, but in general think Frankie and Benny's style dining with Disney theming, service and in some locations characters. If you are at a table service buffet, think Toby Carvery style dining on a larger scale, with Disney theming, service, and possibly characters.
Table-service dining options include buffets, character dining, and more traditional sit-down restaurant experiences but some dining costs 2 credits, not 1.
What is the Deluxe Table Service Dining Plan?
The Deluxe Table Service Dining Plan is new for 2027 bookings and includes more table-service dining, as well as offering 3 full meals per night of a holiday:
For a 7-night trip you'll get: 14 table service credits, 7 quick service credits, 7 snacks, and 1 refillable mug to use for the whole of your stay, all in your account to use how you like on arrival day.
Consider how much time you want to spend in dining experiences and the amount of food included with this option. Disney adult portions are not small, and this may be too much food for some UK visitors over a 7 or 14 night period.
Where to buy a dining plan in the UK?
Anyone booking a Disney hotel stay can book a dining plan and they can be booked as part of package holidays in the UK through providers including, (but not limited to):
- The Walt Disney World Travel Company,
- Virgin,
- TUI.
You find the dining plan offered as an add-on after choosing the Disney hotel you want to stay in. Dining plans cannot be bought if you stay off-site.
Do you need to buy dining plans when you buy your package?
Most people do tend to book their dining plan at the same time as they book their Disney World package holiday, and it’s easier to do it then. However, you can ring up to add on the dining plan if needed.
What To Consider When Choosing A Dining Plan?
When choosing a dining plan, it’s a question of convenience, affordability, location, planning, and transport. Dining plans can mean more planning, but they also bring peace of mind and work well if you plan to stay on-site your whole holiday.
If you’re looking for | Which dining plan to choose |
|---|---|
Convenience, you’re staying on-site, you want quick and easy meals, and peace of mind food is paid for | Quick-service dining plan |
Mainly quick meals but two or three character meals | Quick service dining plan and pay out of pocket for 2 character meals if you’re staying 14 nights, if you’re staying 7 nights consider the Table-service dining plan |
You’re staying on-site but you have a car and want to spend some days at Universal, a day at the beach and the around 1 week of your time in Disney World | Skip a Dining Plan altogether |
You want to try Disney’s best sit-down Signature dining experiences and as many character dining and snacks as you can | Go for the Deluxe Dining-Plan with a 2027 booking |
You want a sit-down dining experience for 5 days out of 7 and are keen to try all the viral snacks | Table-service dining plan |
If you’re looking for convenience and peace of mind for the most affordable price, consider the early booking offer for 2027 with free drinks and dining as this offers the best value, in my opinion, for people looking to book a dining plan as part of a Disney World package holiday. Choosing if a Disney dining plan is worth it for your holiday is a personal choice and will vary depending on what you want from a Disney World holiday and how long you’re staying on-site for.
There are some other points to consider when booking a dining plan:
- Do you want to have to book dining reservations? This is a key part of having a table-service or deluxe table-service dining plan, as many restaurants fill-up quickly, so you need to book reservations and understand the booking system. It’s not hard, just a bit more planning.
- Do you want to tip? Tipping is expected, and not included in the either the table-service or deluxe table-service dining plans, at table-service restaurants. This is an extra cost to budget for.
- Do you have anyone between 18 and 20 in your party? In the US, the legal age to be allowed to drink is 21. This means if you have anyone 18 or over in your party, they cannot drink alcohol as part of the dining plan at Disney even though they are legally allowed to do so in the UK.
Can you get the dining plan for less?
The dining plan is an expensive add-on that increases the length of time it takes many UK visitors to save up for a Disney World holiday from the UK. Dining plan offers make a big difference to the affordability of the dining plan and give guests the chance to try more Disney World dining options. There are currently two offers available:
- Disney Free Kids Dining Offer for 2026 bookings: kids get a free dining plan when adults buy one on bookings made by 24th December 2026, for 2026 holidays until 31st December 2026.
- UK free dining and drinks offer on 2027 bookings, valid on select dates, with key blackout dates, but must be booked by 4th November 2026.
How to use dining plan credits?
Dining plan credits are how you pay for meals, snacks or drinks in Disney World when you’ve bought a dining plan. Credits are placed in your account, and you can see them in the My Disney Experience app. You then use them to pay for food. Credits are allocated per night, but you get them in one go on arrival day to use how you like during your holiday. This means you can start spending your credits from day one.
Dining credits do not expire on a nightly basis, and instead expire at the end of the last day of your holiday. This is key if you plan to eat elsewhere, visit other parks, or simply don’t fancy as much food one day.
Where to check how many credits have been spent?
Keeping an eye on how many credits you have is a part of using any of the dining plans. Check credits throughout the holiday in:
- My Disney Experience app: Open the My Disney Experience app, head to "My Resort Stay," and tap "Check Dining Plan" to see exactly how many meals and snacks you have left.
- On your receipt: Have a quick glance at the bottom of your most recent dining receipt.
- In person: Pop down to your hotel's Front Desk or any Guest Relations spot and ask a Cast Member to check your balance for you.
How to get the most from Dining Credits?
Make dining plan credits go further by choosing items that cost more. That’s the basic principle, but there’s a little more nuance to maximising dining plan credits than constantly picking the most expensive items, although that does work. You just might get fed up if eating red meat, fish, and drinking alcohol after 14 nights. The most expensive items tend to fall into those categories across the resort.
When it comes to choosing a dining plan and booking them in the UK it comes down to how you plan to spend your holiday and how much time you plan to spend around Disney World resort. Using the dining plan is about getting to grips with spending dining credits rather than cash.
