Free drinks and dining in the UK is back for 2027 bookings!

The UK’s free dining and drinks offer is probably the most anticipated offer when it comes to booking Disney World holidays. It’s one for early bookers and not only offers considerable savings, it also removes the stress out of wondering if you have budgeted enough for meals. Lots of UK Disney Parks fans wait for this offer to book and it’s clear to see why. For 2027 bookings the deal is back. This guide’s looking at everything from school holidays and blackout dates, to which tier offers the best value drinks and dining for realistic park days that aren’t necessarily all about food.

What Is Disney’s UK Free Dining Offer?

The free dining and drinks offer is an early booking offer that gives UK holidaymakers an incentive to book early, get a good price and make the most of a popular Disney deal in the UK. You need to book hotels and tickets together to get the free dining and drinks offer which varies by Disney resort tier:

Staying At

What free drinks and dining you get

Extra discount

Value resort

1 quick-service meal and 1 drink per person, per night

£100

Moderate resort

Quick-Service Dining Plan: (2 quick-service meals, 1 resort refillable mug, 1 snack, 2 drinks with meals a day)

£150

Deluxe and Deluxe Villa resorts

Disney Table Service Dining Plan: ( 1 quick-service meal, 1 table-service meal, 1 resort refillable mug, 1 snack, 2 drinks with meals a day)

£200

The 2027 offer is available for bookings on 2027 Disney holidays made from 3rd July to 4th November 2026, but you need to meet the following criteria to get the offer:

You don’t need to book flights as part of the package, so this can work if you're booking Orlando flights separately, for example if you’re using points to pay.

Which 2027 Dates Are Included For Disney Free Dining?

There are three large arrival windows with dates when you can get free dining and drinks included in your 2027 booking:

The most useful detail for anyone looking at these dates, is that the arrival date determines if you get the offer. So, for example, if you arrived on the 27th March for a 14 night stay in a participating room in a Value resort you’d still get the offer for the length of your stay. This is worth considering, because when you look at the dates it’s clear some big UK school holidays are not included in the offer dates, and it is a way of potentially getting the offer.

UK School Holidays & Blackout Dates

Arrivals within the following dates don’t get the Free Dining & Drinks offer for 2027 bookings:

The offer finishes from 20th December onwards, but the blackout dates coincide with school holidays where UK families have more time to go on holiday.

UK school holidays do vary by different areas and dates change based on Local Authorities, so this is given as an outline of dates.

Blackout dates, school holidays, and popular holiday times all coincide, but with careful planning it is possible to get the deal over these popular periods by beginning your holiday on the last day of the validity period. Plan and book early if you’re a family with children in school to get the best chance of getting the offer over Christmas, Easter, and October school holidays.

Which Resort Tier Offers The Best Value Free Dining & Drinks?

The best value tier in the free dining offer is sometimes thought of as the option that gives you the biggest savings on food and drink. If that’s what you want choose a Moderate hotel. However, when you’re looking to book I like to think of it more from the perspective of am I going to eat that much food at Disney? The answer to that question shapes whether:

With that said, what you get for free depends on the resort you stay in. Moderate offers the best all round value for most UK guests looking to spend most of the holiday at Disney World. It covers all meals with a quick-service dining plan, without the need to think about advanced dining reservations or tipping with the dining plan.

Staying in Value Resorts with the free food and drinks offer makes you aware of why this is called free dining and drinks, rather than free dining plan offer. In Value Resorts the offer is a free meal. It works a bit like getting upgraded to bed and breakfast, only you can choose what quick-service meal you have for free, and when and where you eat your 14 meals during a two-week stay. I prefer it as an offer for the flexibility it gives, especially if you’re visiting other theme parks.

Is it worth upgrading your hotel to get better dining and drinks for free?

Don't upgrade your Disney Resort just for the dining plan unless you want to stay there, and you’ll be on-site to use the dining credits. Upgrading from a Value to a Moderate, or a Moderate to a Deluxe to get more value and a Disney Dining Plan you can book all year round is one I get asked about a lot. The decision always come down to these points:

If you’re on-site more than you’re off-site, or you want peace of mind the food you want is paid for then you may want to upgrade your hotel, but only if you want better room amenities too, otherwise upgrade just the dining plan. That’s the next section and it’s really easy to work out. But before that you need to know the difference in price between upgrading hotels.

From a financial perspective the cost to upgrade hotels for the free dining plan offer looks like this with a real booking example I ran:

Disney Resorts

Package price: 14-nights for a family of four (2 adults / 2 children aged 8 and 11 so you pay adult prices for 1 child)

Total Value of dining plan for family calculated at advertised rates

Value: All-Star Music (standard room)

£4,436.01

£934.86

Moderate: Coronado Springs (standard village room)

£5,796.01

£2,292.86

Deluxe: Animal Kingdom Lodge (resort view)

£8,326.01

£3,580.86

Prices checked 21st August 2027 for a hotel and tickets package on 30th July - 13th August 2027 with The Walt Disney World Travel Company, (Booking direct with Disney).

From this example:

  • It costs £1,360 to upgrade to a Moderate Hotel.

  • It costs £2,530 to upgrade from a Moderate Coronado Springs hotel to Animal Lodge Deluxe Hotel.

Is it worth just upgrading the dining plan?

Yes, if you plan on using the food and you want to stay in a Value but experience a specific dining plan, it can be worth it. You can upgrade to any dining plan option from any hotel. It’s just about understanding the discount the offer gives you. Here are the values Disney give to each of the free drinks and dining options per night:

Hotel Tier

Adult free dining and drinks offer value from Disney

Child free dining and drinks offer value from Disney

Value

£19.99

£6.99

Moderate

£47.99

£19.99

Deluxe

£76.99

£24.99

Aside from the Value option which is exclusive to the offer, the value of food and drinks at Moderate and Deluxe is equivalent to the dining plan option you get for free:

  • Moderate = Free Quick-Service Dining Plan

  • Deluxe = Free Table-Service Dining Plan

To upgrade to a different plan, you take the cost of the plan you get for free at the resort you choose to stay at and deduct it from the cost of the dining plan you want. This means in a Value Hotel you have a dining plan worth £19.99 a night as an adult. To upgrade to a Quick Service dining plan you take the value of your free dining plan from the cost of the quick service plan: £47.99 - £19.99 = £28 extra a night. Then times this by the number of nights of your holiday.

We’ve done the maths for you on a per night basis for one adult to upgrade:

Hotel Tier

Cost per night to upgrade to Quick Service

Cost per night to upgrade to Table Service

Cost per night to upgrade to Deluxe Table Service

Value

£28

£57

£105

Moderate

included for free

£29

£77

Deluxe

-

included for free

£48

Simply multiply these amounts by the number of nights of your holiday to get the amount it costs to upgrade per adult.

If you think that you are likely to spend £28 more a day on an extra meal and snacks, plus the resort refillable mug cost, then it’s worth upgrading. But you have to upgrade for the duration of your holiday, which is why if you plan on being off-site for more than 50% of the nights it looses value and isn’t cost effective to upgrade.

Upgrading a Moderate free quick service dining plan to a table service is worth it if you want to eat in a character dining or sit down dining restaurant in Disney property every night of your trip, as you will spend more than the £29 a night each to eat in those places. For example, a meal at Roundup Rodeo BBQ opens in a new tabwill set you back £36.74 ($49.00) plus tax, per person aged 10 and over. Again apply the 50%, if you will be on-site for more than 50% of nights doing this it is worth upgrading.

Which is better: paying to upgrade Disney hotels or upgrade the dining plan offer?

It depends on the time of year you are booking, and it is always best to do the maths to see whether it is more cost effective to upgrade hotels or just the dining plan.

The only way to know is to do the maths. Taking the same Value Hotel stay as mentioned above, at Disney’s All Star Sports between 30th July and 13th August 2027 for a family of four:

In this example, the family is better paying the extra £2 for the room size and resort amenity upgrade, rather than just upgrading the dining plan. That is unless they really want to stay at All Star Sports. Here are the screen shots: first for the hotel prices:

Disney resort listings: All-Star Sports from £2,312 and Coronado Springs from £3,722, with hotel details and Select buttons.

And here is the screenshot of the price to upgrade from the free Value drinks and dining offer to the Quick-Service Dining plan, showing that an upgrade of hotel is only £2 more than just the dining. This shows an upgrade of hotel would be cheaper than upgrading just the dining plan on these dates.

Upgrade to Quick-Service Dining Plan: £47.99 per adult, £19.99 per child per night; upgrade price £1,358.

Disney holidays

However, for exactly the same holiday, 14 nights for 2 adults and 2 children aged 8 and 11, but between 19th October and 3rd November:

Obviously, there is a room upgrade involved, but the same family could pay £565 more to upgrade hotels and dining packages, when all they really want is the better dining package. It’s in these small calculations that you find the differences, and knowing what you want can help you make savings rather than upgrading for the sake of it.

Is Disney’s Free Dining and Drink Offer 2027 Worth Booking Early For?

Yes, it’s worth booking, but always do the maths first and book what you want rather than upgrading to get a deal. The best value offer is the one giving you a dining and drinks package you’ll use, rather than an offer that leaves you with lots of unused credits at the end of your holiday. I would always recommend this offer, and there are great savings to be found.

Questions About The UK Free Dining And Drinks Offer

Is it cheaper to upgrade the dining plan or upgrade to a Moderate/Deluxe Resort?

There’s not a universal answer and it will depend on your dates, and the prices when you book, as to whether it is cheaper to upgrade the dining plan or upgrade your Disney hotel too. Sometimes there is so little in it, that upgrading for better amenities can be worth it.

What happens if I don't use all my Disney Dining Plan credits each day?

You don’t need to use your credits on a daily basis, you get given them in all at once and you can use them however you like during your stay. You can have a lighter food day and save credits for another day rather than trying to use a fixed number every 24 hours.

Can I use Free Dining for Character Dining and Signature restaurants?

The Table-Service plan can be used at Character Dining locations, but not every restaurant costs the same number of credits. Some Fine/Signature restaurants and character locations need two Table-Service credits per person.

Are alcoholic drinks and tips included with Disney Free Dining?

If you’re aged 21+ you can choose an alcoholic drink with qualifying meals, including options such as beer, cider, wine and speciality cocktails. Tips are generally not included, though, so guests using Table-Service credits still need to budget for tips.
