How To Book Advanced Dining Reservations (ADR) From The UK

Booking Disney restaurants as a UK visitor can be confusing, especially with time zone differences. Knowing when to book, where to book, and securing your priority dining experiences first are all part of the Advance Dining Reservation (ADR) booking experience from the UK.

When can UK Visitors start booking Disney dining reservations?
Anyone can book dining reservations 60 days before, but there is a slight difference between what Disney hotel guests can book, and when everyone else can book.
Visitors With Disney Hotel Reservations
Disney Hotel guests can book ADR from 60 days before the first day of their holiday, but they have the added perk of being able to book reservations for up to the first 10 days if their holiday. This can make getting hard to get dining reservations easier, and I often look for availability for the dining that is most popular for days 8-10 when my booking window opens. It’s not fool-proof, but works some of the time.
The UK visitor perk is sometimes called the 60/10 rule. The downside of this perk for UK visitors with 14 day holidays at Disney World is that it does not cover all of your trip and if you have bought that dining plan, that means you need to log on again daily 50 days out to get the rest of your dining reservations.
Visitors Staying Off Site
For off-site visitors, you can book dining reservations on a day-by-day basis from the 60 day point. Just remember that you need a valid theme park ticket to book dining reservations inside the parks. Booking dining reservations in other places on property, like at Disney hotels or at Disney Springs don’t need theme park tickets, so UK visitors looking for some Disney magic can book to go eat at Disney without the theme park reservation.
What time do Disney Dining Reservations From The UK open?
For lots of UK visitors the timing is in the middle of a working day. But if it's your first trip, don't make our mistake of getting up at 5.30am to be ready to book. That’s the time for U.S. guests and the one that US blogs share for planning.
Where can UK Visitors Book Disney Dining Reservations?
Booking ADR from the UK can be done:
Online through the UK Disney website opens in a new tab: just be sure to have your access sorted before your booking window.
In the My Disney Experience App: just be sure to have your access sorted before your booking window.
By calling Disney directly in the UK on 0800 16 90 748 but phonelines for this service don’t open until midday opens in a new tab so if you have hard to get reservations on your list use the website or app to book those first.
My preferred option is through the app as I have always found this the easiest route. Plus, this is where you can go to amend bookings while on holiday or to check for a reservation you didn’t get. Plus the app is fast, which is important when looking for availability for hard to get restaurants like the ones in the section below.
How to book Disney Dining In The App From The UK?
When booking online using the My Disney Experience App, firstly, make it easier by setting up a Disney account and downloading the app well before your dining booking window opens. We’re talking at least a week before, because you'll need these set-up to access dining reservations.
Familiarise yourself with before the booking process for dining reservations before your booking window opens, especially if you have a table-service dining plan.
Here’s a step-by-step walk through of the booking process for Advanced Dining Reservations (ADR) using the app in the UK:
Step 1: Open the app and tap the plus in the middle of the bottom bar. Then click “check dining” .
Step 2: A new page opens. You select party size, date, and time of day for example morning.
Step 3: You find a list of dining options to choose from. This is where the lust comes in handy, so you can secure the bucket list bookings first. Secure the locations likely to sell-out first. Topolino’s Terrace breakfast reservations are a good example of this.
Step 4: Go through the booking and payment. You can change dining reservations up to 24 hours before, without being charged, so just get a booking in if it’s a bucket list dining experience and change it later if you need to.
Knowing where to eat before booking makes ADR easier
Getting Disney dining reservations is a simple process, but it still comes with stress for the person responsible for securing the bookings. This is especially true when you have bought or got a table service dining plan thinking about having specific dining experiences as part of your holiday.
The best way to calmly go through the booking I have found is to have a list of your top dining choices in order of priority, so you know exactly what to search for when the booking window opens. Disney dining reservations are free to make, but you'll need a valid credit card on file. Your UK credit card works to make the bookings in the My Disney Experience app and online.
One of the best ways to start making a plan is to look at the dining on offer in Disney World opens in a new tab. If you have an idea of what experiences you want, take a look at the individual restaurant in the app or online and see the menu for choices and prices. Just remember to add on Florida sales tax if you are paying out of pocket, and consider if you’ll tip and tipping costs if you are looking at a table service option.
Your plan does not need to be detailed, a list of the experiences you want to book will do the job, it’s just so you don’t get flustered when you start the booking process.
What’s The 60/10 rule and how does it work for UK visitors staying on-site for 2 weeks?
The 60/10 rule allows on-site Disney World hotel guests the chance to book dining reservations for 10 days of their holiday from the 60 day before travel point, saving time and giving on-site visitors the best chance to get those bucket-list dining reservations. For UK, visitors staying on-site for 2 weeks, this does mean logging on again from 56 days out so that you can get reservations for the rest of your holiday.
UK Magic Tickets and In-Park Dining Reservations
Having a UK Magic Ticket does not change the 60-day booking process, but you do need to keep in mind that to book an in-park dining experience you’ll need to be in the park. This means you use a day of your ticket. Having a UK Magic Ticket or staying on-site does not change this.
When it comes to booking a meal in a park on a rest day, even if it is on a day within your Magic Ticket validity window, you use a day’s entry. This is because you need a ticket to the parks to eat in the restaurants inside the parks. When planning a rest day, don’t book a dining reservation in a park to just pop in and out to eat, unless you have spare and unused park days.
Why Do You Need to Book Disney Restaurants in Advance
Booking dining reservations in advance for Disney World holidays is important because many popular restaurant options book up early. For UK visitors with dining plans, the need to book dining reservations is even more important especially if you have either table-service option, as you often book with bucket list dining experiences in mind.
While walk-ups are possible and last minute reservations happen, the size of your party impacts how likely you are to get a last-minute reservation. In my experience, the bigger your party size, the trickier it is to get the reservation. Sometimes breaking down the party into two smaller groups is the best way to get your reservation.
Because Disney Dining is an unknown, I always advise not to promise dining experiences until you have them booked. Instead create a bucket list of dining experiences you’d like in a priority order, that the person making the reservations can use to book with. It’s a good way to eliminate stress, as you book the top ADR priorities first and your mind doesn’t go blank trying to remember what a restaurant is called. It also sets expectations and avoids disappointments when talking about the holiday.
What is the hardest Disney dining reservation to get?
The popular dining options are the hardest to get and book up fastest. Here are the hardest dining reservations to get in Summer 2026, since Geo-82 and Beak and Barrel got walk-up wait lists:
Space 220 Restaurant opens in a new tab in EPCOT offers casual dining and a a prix fixe menu, but it doesn't take the Disney Dining Plan yet stays consistently full.
Candlelight Processional Dining Packages opens in a new tab at EPCOT during Festival of the Holidays is popular and last year it sold out within 72 hours for the entire season.
Cinderella's Royal Table breakfast opens in a new tab in Magic Kingdom sells out fast because there are less seating, and it is also a cheaper option than lunch or dinner by per adult for anyone looking for that iconic meal in the Castle experience.
Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' brunch opens in a new tab at Disney Springs is the breakfast menu, but it’s only served on Saturdays and Sundays, 9:30am to 1pm. And it’s not only Disney Resort guests with park tickets making reservations here, local Floridians book it too, so this one can be tricky to get.
'Ohana dinner opens in a new tab at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is always popular and reservations are difficult at popular times
Topolino's Terrace breakfast opens in a new tab at Riviera Resort has always been popular but at the moment it is getting harder to get a reservation.
Advanced Dining Reservation: UK Tips and Workarounds
Sometimes booking advanced Dining Reservations don’t go to plan, whether that’s because dates sell-out or you can’t seem to get the reservation at the right time, even if you’re on-line to book at the time your ADR window opens. Don't feel disheartened or sad, because it's surprising what becomes available closer to the time. I’ve got reservations for Topolino’s breakfast on the same day while standing in the queue for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind during rope drop. It’s possible.
Here are my top tips and workarounds for UK visitors looking to get those ADR:
Keep Checking Back
It might sound obvious, but checking daily can help you find that illusive reservation as people change and modify plans all the time. I’m not suggesting you spend hours looking, just that you head to the restaurant/s you want reservations for, put in your party number and date range and check. And 100% do this while you are in Disney World: my favourite times to check ae in queues, first thing, and last thing.
Be Flexible with Timings For Reservations
Booking a late breakfast instead of lunch or a late dinner are two ways of using flexible timing to get the dining reservations you want if you can’t see the time. Having a late breakfast and choosing steak at 11:45am will not only save some money, you’ll probably find the breakfast reservation there after the popular times have gone. Outside of the peak dining hours you also find fewer crowds, a quieter atmosphere, and you might even get more attention from the characters if you're doing a character meal.
Use a Reservation Alert Service
This is when you use an alert service, then hop on the app to try and get the booking yourself. They cost a few dollars and are from third party service providers not affiliated with Disney. One example is Mousewatcher, opens in a new tab and it is an option for getting harder reservations.
It’s ok to cancel and modify
Booking a dining reservation to secure second or third choice options is best, and then popping on and having a look for first choice options a few days before and modifying a reservation is fine. Just make sure you know the reservation rules for each restaurant, they vary, before making changes otherwise you can end up charged.
Use the Walk-Up Waitlist Feature on the My Disney Experience App
My favourite last-minute light planning hack for Disney World, and perfect for couples who perhaps have more flexibility in their schedules and bucket lists. Check if there's availability at dining experiences with the wait list feature on the day of your visit and join the waitlist directly from your phone. Just be aware that this only works when you're physically near the restaurant, so it's best for when you're already in the park and willing to be flexible.
Call Disney Dining Directly
If you're really stuck, pick up the phone and call Disney Dining. Sometimes a real person can help you find a solution that the app can't. I've had Cast Members go out of their way to accommodate a special request or help me find a reservation that didn't show up online.
