What makes a Disney hotel Deluxe Deluxe?

Deluxe properties come with a higher price tag, exclusive park perks, and amenities that can rival a villa depending on the room option you pick. Here is exactly what qualifies a Disney hotel as Deluxe:

  • Exclusive Theme Park Perks: Extended Evening Theme Park Hours and Early Entry
  • Transport Links: Varied free transport options across Walt Disney World, including monorails, water taxis, and even direct walking paths to some theme parks.
  • Deluxe resorts feature multiple dining options under one roof, including highly-rated table-service restaurants, quick-service outlets, stylish lounges, and poolside bars.
  • Spacious Rooms: noticeably larger than those at Value or Moderate resorts, complete with the added privacy and quiet of interior hallway room entry which feels more like a UK hotel stay, but on a bigger scale.
  • Multiple swimming pools featuring elaborate theming, relaxing hot tubs, and at least one thrilling waterslide.
  • A variety of on-site activities for non-park days: fully-equipped health clubs, arcades, fishing excursions, and motorised watercraft rentals.
  • Premium Guest Services: Paid valet parking (in addition to free self-parking and access to exclusive Club Level concierge services when you book a Club Level Deluxe room).

How many Disney Deluxe resorts are there and what are they like?

There are 8 Disney Deluxe Resorts, and each offers a different experience. Here is a list of the resorts:

  1. Disney’s Yacht Club Resort: Found within the EPCOT area of the resort, The Yacht Club is the sister property to The Beach Club. A New England theme in white matches the blue of The Beach Club. With 630 rooms with 380sq ft of space as average, rooms are spacious and elegant.
  2. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge: Inspired by Americas Great North West this resort provides perfect escapism from the Disney overwhelm. With a river running from the lobby down to the lake, it feels very relaxing inside even with the grand foyer.
  3. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort: Inspired by Polynesian culture, it’s the home of the table-service Stitch breakfast. Enjoy views over the Seven Seas Lagoon and watch Happily Ever After fireworks from the man-made beach every night.
  4. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa: Disney’s most iconic hotel with a spa and wedding pavilion, it exudes 19th century luxury in a prime location overlooking the Seven Seas Lagoon and Magic Kingdom. This 867-room resort will add luxury to any holiday.
  5. Disney’s Contemporary Resort: The monorail track runs through the centre of the resorts A-shape frame. All 655 rooms have balconies and an Incredibles theme.
  6. Disney’s Board Walk Inn: Near to EPCOT, this hotel is within walking distance of Walt’s second park, benefitting from free views of the fireworks and smaller than some with only 378 hotel rooms.
  7. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge: The hotel experience where you open your curtains to look out over a safari landscape in Savannah view rooms.
  8. Disney’s Beach Club Resort: New England charm radiates from the light blue facades with 583 standard hotel rooms, all have balconies, albeit some are small and ‘Juliet style’. Within walking distance from EPCOT and free night-time views of Luminous: The Symphony Of Us.

What Are Disney Guest Perks In Deluxe Resorts

Disney’s Deluxe hotels have exactly the same hotel guest benefits as Value and Moderate hotel tiers, which includes 30 minutes of free extra theme park time every morning, free poolside and water park towels, and free on-site parking.

In Deluxe Resorts however there is one extra perk not available in Moderate or Value resort tiers: Extended Evening Hours in the parks. This is the main difference in resort guest perks, but isn’t available very night and in every park.

At Deluxe Resort levels you can pay more for a Club Level experience, which will get you more perks. If you book a deluxe club-level room, you can enter the on-site private club or concierge lounge for free. (It’s called Club Lounges but you may note on some of the signs that it says concierge lounge: it’s the same). This includes complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, evening hors d'oeuvres, and select free-flowing alcoholic beverages throughout the day.

When To Consider Staying At A Deluxe Resort?

The length of your holiday, the length of time you plan to stay in a Disney Deluxe Resort, cost, amenities, availability and the experience you want all play into the decision of whether to stay in a Deluxe hotel. There are some occasions however, when a Deluxe Resort will make sense over other options.

UK Free Drinks and Dining Offer 2027

The UK’s free drinks and dining offer 2027 gives Deluxe Resort guests the free Table Service Dining Plan with select Disney World holiday bookings. If dining is a large part of how you plan to experience Disney World, the savings from the dining plan offer can make a Deluxe Resort the best option for your holiday. Planning a character or sit down dining experience every day for 14 days, then you’ll find a deluxe option worthwhile rather than paying to upgrade the dining plan.

Extended Evening Hours

Extended Evening Hours alone are not a reason to stay in a Deluxe Resort, but as a perk they have value. Deluxe Resorts are the only tier of Disney hotel that get the 2 hour extra evening theme park hours.

Special Occasions

A special occasion is a great reason to stay in a Disney Deluxe Resort. With luxury amenities and memorable theming, such as opening your curtains to see animals roaming around a savannah at Animal Kingdom Lodge, a Deluxe Resort is all most like having an escape while on holiday. Deluxe Resorts are ideal for all ages and offer unique experiences to give Disney mornings a truly magical start.

For adults heading to Disney World, Deluxe Resorts can offer that touch of luxury perfect for anniversaries, date nights, and holidays featuring experiences such as Michelin dining and spa treatments.

There are three free Disney transport options available at Disney World Deluxe hotels and where you stay affects the options available. No Deluxe hotel has direct Skyliner access.

Only 3 of Disney’s 8 Deluxe resorts are on the monorail loop, and these so called monorail hotels have the benefit of being the closest hotels to Magic Kingdom. If you long to see Happily Ever After fireworks from your room or saunter in Magic Kingdom around the Seven Seas Lagoon, choose a stay in a monorail hotel. Split Stay

Split stays offer the most accessible way for UK visitors to stay in Deluxe Resorts, given the higher price tag. Timing a split stay in a Deluxe Resort to

A split stay simply means dividing your holiday between two or more different resorts, so staying at one or more Disney resorts or somewhere off-site and in a Disney Deluxe Resort is an option. Splitting stays between multiple Disney resorts makes it incredibly easy by transferring your luggage between the hotels for you.

Many UK visitors make the decision to stay in Value or Moderate resort for the beginning of their holiday, then, for the last few days, they transfer over to a Deluxe resort for a bit of luxury. It's a great way to treat yourself and your family, enjoy extra perks and make the most of UK dining offers without having to pay Deluxe prices for a full 14 nights.

How Much Do Disney World Deluxe Resorts Cost From The UK?

Staying in a Disney Deluxe Hotel, has a premium price tag, here is how much you can expect to pay per night depending on when you stay:

Are Deluxe Resorts Worth It On A 2-Week UK Trip?

A two week stay in a Disney Deluxe Resort is not worth the price tag in my opinion. Whereas a split stay at a Deluxe Resort for a couple of nights, is worth it. Booking to get Extended Evening Hours included, makes it a memorable experience for UK visitors looking to mark a celebration or just indulge a little. Disney Deluxe resorts offer beautiful theming and both around the resort and in the rooms.

Two nights works well, and if you are staying on-site in a Value or Moderate hotel, Disney hotel services will move your bags for you, for free. Plus if you buy a Resort Refillable mug you can use it in the hotels around the whole resort for the length of your stay, even when moving between hotels and resort tiers.

What is the Difference Between a Deluxe Hotel room and a Deluxe Villa?

A Deluxe hotel room offers comfort and high quality amenities with more space than at other resort tiers, but a villa is taking it up a notch again. Villas have a living space, separate bedrooms, a kitchen and all with the same high end finish as Deluxe hotel rooms.

When debating between a Disney Deluxe Resort Hotel and a Disney Deluxe Villa, the biggest difference is in the space and self-catering amenities.

Disney Park Perks

Extended Hours & Early Entry

Extended Hours & Early Entry

When you stay at a Walt Disney World Deluxe Villa, you enjoy all the premium perks of a traditional Deluxe Resort, including Early Theme Park Entry, Extended Evening Hours, and transport links to the parks. However, Villas offer accommodations that go beyond a traditional hotel room, making them especially perfect for UK holidaymakers visiting for 14 nights. They are often a more expensive option that a Deluxe hotel room, so while they offer an on-site alternative to a off-site villa, they cost far more.

Why choose a Deluxe Villa for a Florida holiday?

Deluxe Villas offer more space and amenities to suit any family size, with 1, 2, and 3-Bedroom Villa options, as well as unique options like waterside Bungalows and woodland Cabins. You get Disney on-site perks too.

Multi-bedroom Deluxe Villas are good for UK families looking for more space with the following features as standard:

  • A Fully-Equipped Kitchen: Save on dining costs by preparing full meals and storing snacks right in the comfort of your villa. Ideal for a quick breakfast before heading to the parks.
  • An In-Room Washer and Dryer: A massive advantage for UK families on a two-week trip. Wash your clothes mid-holiday, pack lighter, or head home with clean clothes.
  • Spacious Living and Dining Areas: More space to spread out
  • Separate Bedrooms: Easier for parents to rest, relax, and recharge in the lounge area while children sleep next door. Also work well for multi-generational trips giving people more space.
