When’s the best month to visit Disney World?

The best month again depends on what you are looking for from your holiday: from a park touring perspective any time between November and April works well for UK visitors. Whittling down the dates even more, these are my favourite best times:

Month-to-month weather changes are more subtle but do influence holiday planning more for UK visitors.

What are the coldest months to visit Disney World?

The coldest months to visit Walt Disney World are December, January, and February where maximum average daily temperatures hover at 22-25C. That’s often an ideal temperature for a full park day if you’re a UK visitor, as it feels a lot like a UK summer-time high.

Hottest months to visit Disney?

The hottest months to visit Walt Disney World are June, July, and August, where temperatures often exceed the daily averages. The heat in Disney also feels very different than here in the UK and combined with the high humidity, feels like temperatures are often higher than the recorded temperatures. The hottest months also happen to be the wettest months.

Wettest months to visit Disney?

The wettest months in Disney World between the end of May / beginning of June and early September. Exploring Disney World in the rain takes planning as Florida rain is the type of rain that soaks in seconds. An average of 77.8cm will fall during these months, meanwhile in the UK, there’s an average of about 20.2cm. That’s nearly 4 times the amount of rain, so if you plan to visit then, pack for the rain.

What’s the best weather for a Disney World visit?

My advice would be to visit the parks any time from October through to May to get the best weather. The extreme heat of summer months can make park days trickier to plan and you may not feel like you can spend as much time in the parks due to the heat. Being able to spend an entire day in the park without melting and needing to change sweaty clothes due to humidity is why I prefer these months.

When are crowd levels and wait times best in Disney World?

Best crowd levels and wait times can often be found in September and mid-January. However, crowd levels vary throughout the year, changing by day of the week and month, with ride wait times changing on a daily basis.

Crowd calendars are predictions and not always correct. Standing in a 45-minute queue for Enchanted Tales with Belle in May’s low season surrounded by people complaining about how they booked this time because the crowd calendars said it was quiet, was eye-opening.

Disney parks are never truly quiet by UK theme park or attraction standards. This means that goal of getting the best wait times and crowd levels is to find the balance of getting a park experience that is lively but not overwhelming. As a general rules of thumb, when it comes to crowd levels and wait times this is what you can expect:

When are the highest expected crowds in 2027?

Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas is when you’ll find the biggest crowds in the parks and wait times are longest. It’s also when Lightning Lane prices reach peak amounts. That’s not to say you shouldn’t visit during these times, it’s just when crowds will be busiest in the middle of the day for all attractions.

When are quieter crowds with lower wait times in 2027?

If a slower pace, shorter waits, and a bit more breathing space is what you’re looking for mid January to early March is going to be the best time of year to visit. There’s atmosphere, but it’s often Disney light as there are no special events on and International Festival of the Arts only has a short run. September is also an amazing month to visit for lower crowds, and you get the benefit of Halloween vibes. Disney World does not really have quite times however, and a quiet period is equivalent to at least a moderately busy Saturday afternoon at a UK attraction.

When’s the best time to visit for average crowds: busy but comfortable?

There are festivals in the early springtime at EPCOT and this is a bright time to visit. The end of August has plenty going on too, and crowd level are beginning to drop after the summer crush. Moderately busy times are often referred to as the shoulder periods; times between busy periods and quiet periods.

Cheapest Time To Go To Walt Disney World From The UK

The cheapest time to go to Disney World from the UK is affected by many different factors, and cheap is a term that varies from person to person and depends on what you are booking. A Disney World holiday has a lot of component parts, and depending on whether you are booking a package or separately there will be different cheapest times to book.

When you’re booking a package and planning to eat and stay on-site at Disney World the free UK dining and drinks offer can work out cheaper.

Monitoring prices, and having flexibility in your dates often means that you can get cheaper prices no matter when you travel to Disney World or what you’re looking to book. Our Disney World offers will help you find discounts to make your budget stretch further and get the cheapest prices when you book.

Do last minute holidays to Florida work out cheaper?

A last minute package holiday booked around two months before departure can work out cheaper, but you need to be able to pay for the whole trip up front which can be unrealistic. And although last minute is an option, a lower price is not guaranteed and some Disney offers booked further in advance can work out cheaper overall even if they seem to cost a it more on paper.

Best Events and Festivals to visit Disney World?

Timing a trip to coincide with an EPCOT festivals or separate ticketed seasonal event like Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Part can be part of choosing the best time to visit for some UK visitors. While these events are not confirmed annual events, these events in the Disney parks can make a holiday more memorable.

There are also other events going on in Disney World throughout the year which UK visitors may want to attend. This includes:

  • Run Disney: Marathon weekends: These are busy weekends which usually happen four times a year in January, February, April, and October.
  • After Glow parties at Disney water parks: usually during the spring and summer month, held in the evening on numerous dates. You need to buy another ticket to attend.
  • After Hours at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. Held on various nights throughout the year, experience the theme parks after hours and get snacks included. You need to buy another ticket to attend the events, and they are on various nights throughout the year.

UK School Holidays

For families planning their Disney holiday from the UK, travel dates will often be heavily influenced by the UK school calendar. Fortunately UK and US school holidays do not always overlap, which means UK families can still find times to enjoy the parks when crowds are a little lower.

Both February half-term and October half-term in the UK often fall when US schools are still in session, and the end of UK summer holidays is two weeks later than the end of US summer holidays. We’ve worked work out the best UK school holidays for going to Disney World.

Disney World at Christmas: Best Time To Visit?

The simple answer is yes, do it. The atmosphere is magical and while it is nothing like Christmas in the UK, a Christmas day in any Disney park is an incredible experience. From snow down Main Street on Christmas Eve night to experiencing all the different traditions of Christmas around EPCOT on Christmas Day it is a holiday adults and children alike will love.

No matter when you go, a Walt Disney World holiday from the UK is always going to be magical, but timing can impact your holiday if you want certain experiences. There is no single, definitive perfect time to visit, but there is a perfect time for you. Pick what works best for your schedule, needs, and plan for the experiences you want, that way whenever you go you will have the best time.
