Rock 'n' Rollercoaster Starring The Muppets Gets Christmas Overlay For 2026

Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is getting a seasonal overlay for Christmas from 4th November 2026 until 6th January 2027. With some festive tweaks, the name, ride music, scenery and pre-show are all getting some Christmassy touches. This in one of three festive overlays announced by Disney and arguably the Muppets have got more festive touches than the other three rides. This is the first Christmas for this reimagined ride which only opened in May. We think the festive overlay is going to fit in well with the projections on Hollywood Tower of Terror. Here’s the festive scoop on how the ride is changing, and why it’s the best festive overlay that you can really experience without riding.

What’s New For Christmas 2026 On Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster?

Disney is going all out with their festive overlay for this ride, temporarily changing the name, theming, tunes, and atmosphere in the courtyard.

• The name change: Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay

• Courtyard atmosphere: festive courtyard music

• Pre-show festivities: holiday rehearsal scenes inside G-Force Records

• On-ride experience: a new set list of 4 Christmas songs

This is the first Christmas season for the Muppets version of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster which opened on 26th May 2026 in Hollywood Studios.

Which Christmas Songs Will Be Playing?

Disney have currently confirmed a festive music set list for the ride:

It looks like the normal set list will be suspended during the festive period, so these will be the tracks on shuffle that you get while experiencing the ride. But Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay is getting more than just a festive song overlay like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Alien Swirling Saucers.

What To Expect From The Overlay?

Disney are going all out with this Christmas overlay and although other Christmas overlays are coming, the Muppets seem to be getting the biggest changes, with more music, more set changes, and they’ve also got their own reel to mark the occasion. Here’s the teaser for Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay shared by Disney Parks:

Not only are there tunes, but there’ll also be changes to the scenes to create a new story as guest queue. Disney says:

The collaborations and tracks are new for 2026, so for UK visitors heading over between November and January when the overlay is on, it’s worthwhile experiencing the ride. Even if you have little ones, who don’t meet the ride height requirement of 122cm (48 inches) this overlay extends into the outside area of the courtyard around the ride. It’s worth walking up into the courtyard to hear the festive music. I’d personally head there in the evening when it’s darker to enjoy the music outside the ride and Tower of Terror’s festive projections. This ride will have a truly festive feeling overlay that adds to the atmosphere of the area making it better than the other 3 festive musical additions.

This overlay is not part of a seasonal party, so everyone will be able to enjoy it throughout the day with general admission.

Magic in a Minute

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay is on from 4th November to 6th January. Changes begin outside the ride so even if you don’t want to experience the coaster, you can still experience some of the festive magic that is being dusted on this ride this Christmas season.
