Introduced on 25th September 2026, Lilypad's Jams brings an updated soundtrack alongside song introductions, drawing guesses, puzzles and videos for people who aren't riding Alien Swirling Saucers. Disney have now announced a Christmas playlist will follow too from 4 November 2026 to 6 January 2027.
For UK holidaymakers visiting with children of different ages, the off-ride entertainment is a useful part of this ride update, and the festive overlay that’s coming from November continues to bring this ride more prominence in Hollywood Studios.

Lilypad's Jams Extends Experience Beyond Ride
Lilypad’s installation on the 25th September brought an off-ride extension to the Alien Swirling Saucer experience, meaning that non-riders could enjoy the Toy Story magic. For families with children under thee 81cm height requirement, or people who just don’t fancy swirling about this is a ride addition that adds to both the Toy Story Land and Alien Swirling Saucer experience.
Disney says that even if you are not riding you can experience Lilypad:
"Lilypad is DJing for all honorary toys in the backyard, whether or not you’re riding Alien Swirling Saucers. Offboard, guests can sing along as DJ Lily hypes and introduces tracks from her playlist and provides a variety of entertainment between tunes. Try to guess which toy she’s doodling on her drawing app, help her unscramble puzzles, and even watch “home videos” she’s recorded of some of your favorite Toy Story pals."
Disney are now changing this experience by adding in a Christmas overlay too. Alien Swirling Saucers is one of three rides getting Christmas songs added this year. Like it’s Hollywood Studios counterpart, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets, this overlay extends beyond the walls of the ride and into the surrounding area.
Four Christmas Songs Play From November 4th
Disney has named four tracks for the seasonal playlist:
Deck the Halls
Toyland
Swirling, Swirling, Saucers
Joy to the Swirl
Each song is new and exclusive to the ride and has been exclusively inspired for Christmas 2026, songs are designed to be catchy and Imagineers went to Nashville as part of the creative process. Thomas Niederhiser, Senior Creative Producer at Walt Disney Imagineering said:
"We wanted to think about the music in a completely new way—taking beloved songs from the Toy Story films, and create catchy new original songs, that are singable, sincere and a little cheesy, as one is about Pizza Planet"
Festive Overlays Are Not New To Alien Swirling Saucers
The seasonal playlist is new to the Lilypad's Jams update, but Christmas music has featured on Alien Swirling Saucers before. Any returning Disney World visitors may remember the 2018 overlay which included two holiday tracks and themed lighting. For 2026, Disney seem to be focusing on the Christmas tunes, as no other festive additions to Alien Swirling Saucers have been announced. This musical festive overlay appears to be a very similar approach to the festive soundtrack shift at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT; songs only.
Magic In A Minute
Disney is bringing a musical overlay to Alien Swirling Saucers for the 2026 festive season and using the new addition of Lilypad from Toy Story 5 to bring it to life. From 4th November 2026 to 6th January 2027 Lilypad will play 4 exclusively written festive tracks which can be enjoyed whether you choose to ride or not.
