Guardians of the Galaxy Will Play Christmas Songs For 2026: Dates & Playlist

Disney has announced that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT is getting a temporary festive soundtrack this year with 3 Christmas songs running from Wednesday 25th November 2026 until Wednesday 6th January 2027. The ride's festive music runs beyond EPCOT's Festival of the Holiday, so if your holiday straddles late November or early New Year, you’ll get a chance to experience the ride with some festive tunes.

Which Christmas Songs Will Play On Cosmic Rewind?

For the first time Cosmic Rewind will be getting a 3 festive song playlist for the Christmas season including:

The new music overlay is called: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Holiday Mix. As with the usual soundtrack, tunes will be shuffled and guests won’t be able to choose their song. That means there’s no guarantee of getting all three songs even if you ride three times.

Will The Usual Six Songs Play Alongside The Christmas Songs?

The announcement suggests this is a seasonal replacement, rather than a nine-song mix. It’s part of three announcements made for Christmas Songs on rides this year, including an overlay for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets and Alien Swirling Saucers. Disney describes the usual six tracks as the soundtrack heard outside the holiday season, while the three Christmas songs form the seasonal selection.

UK visitors could have mixed feelings about this, and while I enjoy a festive tune I would have liked to have seen the festive songs mixed with the normal soundtrack. Rather than hoping for September or Everybody Wants to Rule the World this Christmas be prepared for a temporary seasonal change.

Is This The First Cosmic Rewind Christmas Overlay?

No, Cosmic Rewind first received a Christmas version called Holiday Remix in 2022, the year the ride opened. The 2022 festive tune was a specially created festive mash-up in place of the usual song rotation. The difference for 2026’s festive version is the shuffle of three Christmas tracks, rather than the single mash-up.

Is The Festive Overlay Just A Change Of Songs?

So far, yes the music is the only temporary Christmas change confirmed for Cosmic Rewind. No festive ride scenes, Christmas decorations inside the attraction or a rewritten seasonal storyline have been announced. It feels like a very similar overlay to the 2022 version that also kept the attraction itself the same and changed the ride audio.

How The Festive Overlay Fits With EPCOT’s Seasonal Offerings

Cosmic Rewind’s festive soundtrack overlay starts starts two days earlier and finishes a week later than EPCOT's Festival of the Holidays which runs from 27th November to 30th December 2026. For UK families visiting for the UK school holidays this means more time to experience the festive Cosmic Rewind.

Disney has also confirmed Living with the Land's Glimmering Greenhouses is returning giving you another festive ride experience in EPCOT alongside the seasonal food and entertainment. Candlelight processional is another excellent way to gt in thefestive spirit.

Magic in a Minute

Cosmic Rewind's Christmas soundtrack is scheduled from 25th November 2026 to 6th January 2027 and will outrun the Festival of the Holidays by 9 days. The festive overlay is a temporary soundtrack change that looks set to see the regular 6 tunes replaced by 3 Christmas songs. Anyone looking forward to a typical Cosmic Rewind experience this Christmas is getting an exclusive seasonal soundtrack instead.
