When Is Disney Store Cheshire Oaks Opening?

It’s been over a week since we found out Disney Store was coming to Cheshire Oaks, and Disney Store have yet to release any formal information. However the job advertisements went down o n23rd September, and we have found out interviews are imminent. What we don’t know is when Disney Store will make the formal announcement about this Disney Store that fans in the North West, and all over the UK, are waiting for.

When Will Disney Store Cheshire Oaks Open?

Sources tell us Disney Store Cheshire Oaks will be open before Christmas 2026, and that although some feel mid-October is ambitious, that is apparently the aim. On the ground today, there’s no official sign of the store on Cheshire Oaks, although we do believe a unit has now been chosen and work is going to begin imminently. We spotted this sign out and there was no sign of work in the area where it was at the time we were visiting. It was however near one of the units we had been told was on the shortlist. We can’t confirm why the sign was there; just that we saw it.

Job Applications Are Closed

Job applications closed on 23rd September, and were removed from both the Disney Careers website and LinkedIn. This suggests that the opening process is moving on.

How Far In Advance Do Disney Store Announce Store Openings?

Given the recent Selfridge’s concessions openings in Birmingham and Manchester, we decided to take a look at how far in advance Disney Store announce store openings. For both new recent concession Disney gave only 13 days notice of the store opening date.

The store opening date was not however the first time Disney Store announced either of these new retail spaces. And this is where dates vary more. The Birmingham Store was announced 43 days before the store opened, while Manchester Trafford Centre’s concession area never really closed, it just moved. The move was announced as new store, 90 days before it happened. Currently, either of these lead times would see a Cheshire Oaks store opening before Christmas.

Going beyond the two most recent Disney Store concession openings, pop-up events for Disney in the UK, (not related to Disney Store), this year have also had fairly short lead times from announcement to event.

Both pop-up events and store openings in 2026 have had under 90 days notice, and under 43 is more accurate when you consider that Manchester’s Disney Store concession was open when the new announcement was made.

Disney Store Unlocked

In the most recent example we can find of Disney Store playing their opening cards close to their chest, just look at Disney Store Unlocked. The information about the new rewards scheme was sat in a change to delivery. This was followed by a teaser announcement on 17th September, followed aby a launching soon announcement on 21st September, and then nothing for the launch which does appear to have happened as the rewards program is live at Disney Store Unlocked.

This means that Disney Store announced and launched their customer loyalty program in only 7 days. We’d have loved to have seen an opening offer, a bit more social media follow-through, but it just didn’t happen and this is perhaps why Disney Store remain silent on the opening date for Cheshire Oaks.
