Disney Store Is Opening At Cheshire Oaks In 2026

Disney Store is coming to Cheshire Oaks, Ellesmere Port. Riding the Magic has found job descriptions for Cast Members at the location, as well as speaking to sources on the ground at Cheshire Oaks today who confirmed the news, sharing that the opening could be as soon as mid-October. This will be the first proper Disney Store to open outside of London that is not a concession in Selfridge’s.

What’s Been Announced?

Disney Store is coming to Cheshire Oaks; a full Disney Store that is not a small concession. Disney have yet to formally announce the news, but have placed a Cast Member job description and advert on LinkedIn confirming they are planning to open a new Disney Store at Cheshire Oaks. From this reporter’s perspective this is wonderful news for Disney fans in the UK. I am so excited to see what magic this Disney Store will bring, following the opening of the Selfridge’s permanent Disney Store concession at the Trafford Centre earlier today.

Where Will The New Disney Store Be On Cheshire Oaks?

According to our confidential source at Cheshire Oaks the company was deciding between two units only a couple of days ago. For anyone familiar with Cheshire Oaks, they are looking at the unit that used to belong to Denbigh and the unit that used to belong to Radley.

The Radley unit has the benefit of offering a larger shop floor and more display windows, sitting directly opposite Marks and Spencer, but the Denbigh unit while older and with less window space has a better location for the Disney Store. Located only a few doors along from Playmobil and within a few steps of Smiggle and the large children’s play area next to McDonalds we suspect this will be the unit Disney Store settle on.

However, there are 7 or 8 empty units currently at the Cheshire Oaks site, so Disney Store have options, and whichever unit they choose we are sure fans will be eager to see what magic the company bring to their retail space.

Is Disney Store Returning?

Yes, it would appear that a physical Disney Store is returning to the UK, that is not in London in the very near future. Disney Store is opening at Cheshire Oaks, which is such exciting and welcome news for Disney merchandise fans in the UK. The store is targeting a mid-October opening according to our source, who confirmed that the new store will definitely be open in time for Christmas.

This will be the only physical Disney Store outside of London’s flagship Oxford Street Disney Store after all other Disney Store’s closed late in 2021 and sales went online. Chester’s own Disney Store closed on Saturday 17th July 2021, so it will be just over 5 years since there has been a Disney Store in the area.

With the opening of the three permanent concessions in Selfridge’s stores in London, Birmingham and Manchester, Cheshire Oaks store will be the fourth Disney Store retail experience to open in 2026. In person Disney shopping experiences are returning and for Disney fans in the North of the UK, Cheshire Oaks is a lot closer than London.

Will The New Store Be An Outlet?

It is looking likely, although not confirmed by Disney yet. Cheshire Oaks is an Outlet Village and stores offer discounts from 30% - 70% around the shopping centre. This means that Disney Store may be offering discounted merch, which is even better for shoppers.
