The Horizons Carousel of Progress event gave fans their most detailed look yet at the new Encanto ride coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom, revealing models of the unusual ride vehicles which are themed to the Casita. The vehicles appear to have been assembled from furniture and are then brought to life by the magical house. During the presentation other ride details about voices, height requirements, and more concept art were shared.

What were the Encanto Ride announcements at D23?
The Encanto ride announcements from D23 are exciting for UK fans as Tropical Americas is still listed to open in 2027, and although a ride opening date was not confirmed significant details about the ride experience were:

What do the new Encanto ride vehicles look like?
The vehicles are colourful and bright, designed to look like pieces of the Madrigal family's furniture brought to life in the casita.
Two physical ride vehicle models were on display at D23, giving fans a much clearer idea of how guests will experience the first-ever Encanto ride-through attraction at a Disney park. One is styled around a dresser, while another incorporates a piano, continuing the idea that Casita itself is helping guests move through the attraction. The vehicles displayed at D23 have prompted speculation that Encanto could use a trackless dark ride system, but it’s not yet confirmed.
The ride vehicles should allow riders to feel part of the casita magic; rather than simply sitting in a conventional ride car while Casita comes alive around them, they’ll be part of the house's magic by travelling aboard its animated furniture.
What will happen on the Encanto ride at Animal Kingdom?
The new Encanto ride is named Antonio’s Fiesta De Encanto and the ride story focuses on the day Antonio receives his magical gift of being able to communicate with animals. The ride involves entering the Madrigal family's magical home before travelling into Antonio's rainforest-filled room as the family celebrates his new ability.

Will the Encanto ride have a height requirement?
No, the ride is not going to have a height requirement. For UK families planning park days this is one part of the announcement that will impact how you plan parks when the opening date’s announced.
However, another ride announced during D23, the new Indiana Jones ride at Disney World which is also part of Tropical Americas is likely to have a ride eight requirement given the ride details shared. However, details of a ride height requirement for Indiana Jones are not yet confirmed.
