Disney World have made a sweeping batch of opening announcements: Tuesday 26th May 2026 is going to be an exciting day across Walt Disney World, as 4 openings are taking place. The date is significant for both US and UK visitors too, as the timing coincides with Memorial Day Weekend and May Half-Term holidays in the UK.
Disney World are going for a major summer launch on 26th May 2026, with new family entertainment, a fresh Bluey experience, a new Disney Jr. stage show, and changes at EPCOT all arriving as part of the returning Cool KIDS' SUMMER. The openings mark the beginning of the summer seasonal programme running from 26th May to 8th September 2026.
What’s Opening On 26th May 2026
Disney Parks have announced, via their Instagram, that the following attractions will all be opening on 26th May 2026:
Bluey's Wild World at Conservation Station in Animal Kingdom
The Walt Disney Studios Courtyard at Hollywood Studios
Disney Jr Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! at Hollywood Studios
Soarin’ Across America at EPCOT
Here’s the official Instagram post:
They have also announced that Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger’s Spin will also be reopening on 8th April 2026, which is just after the busy Easter weekend, but for many UK families this timing should work if you’re visiting for school specific two-week Easter Spring holidays.
Why the Memorial Day timing matters for UK guests
In the US, it’s Memorial Day weekend; in the UK it’s May half-term and the late May bank holiday weekend, so the parks are going to be busy with an increased number of both US visitors and UK visitors. Memorial Day Weekend is traditionally seen as the start if summer in the US, and parks are usually very busy during this weekend, without the added draw of new experiences.
Because the launch starts the day after Memorial Day on 25 May, families travelling around that week may see a busier-than-usual start to their holiday, especially if they are flying into Orlando during the wider US holiday travel window. Disney is clearly using the period as the start of its big summer push; so do not expect a quiet soft opening. This is going to be a busy weekend, and quite possibly busier than previous years. If you ae looking for a quieter Disney experience, this is definitely a time to avoid the parks.
With a mass opening tactic Disney may be hoping to disperse excited crowds at a time when they know crowd levels are already peaking for the month of May, but UK visitors with Magic Tickets are going to have an advantage on this busy day of openings. With a 14-day park ticket rather than a 4 or 5-day park ticket UK visitors may find it easier to pick a quieter (although it will still be busy) time to enjoy the new experiences.
Expect to need to adapt park-day plans and dining plans during this opening period as crowds will be high.
Bluey is the biggest win for many UK families
The standout addition for plenty of UK families will be Bluey's Wild World at Conservation Station. Disney says Bluey and Bingo will arrive from 26th May and will be a permanent attraction. Guests will be able to play games, dance with Bluey and Bingo, take photos and discover animals linked to Australia at Jumping Junction.
For UK planners travelling with pre-schoolers and younger primary-age children, that gives Animal Kingdom a much stronger family hook for summer and beyond. It is also the sort of character-led experience that can shape a whole park day if Bluey is already a must-do in your household.
Hollywood Studios gets two of the four big debuts
Hollywood Studios is getting the biggest concentration of 26 May additions. Disney has confirmed that Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! opens that day. This is the reimagined version of Disney Junior Play and Dance! that was part of Animation Courtyard. The new version has Mickey and Minnie Mouse leading a new interactive show inspired by Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+.
On the same date, Disney says "The Walt Disney Studios" Courtyard will be ready for families to explore. That matters because it gives the park another family-focused area right as Disney leans into younger-child entertainment for summer 2026. However, the much anticipated Magic Of Disney Animation will not open at the same time which means guests will be waiting a little longer to meet the new Olaf animatronic coming to this Hollywood Studios attraction.
For UK families, that is useful because Hollywood Studios has often been seen as a park with big thrills but fewer easy wins for very young children. This summer, Disney is clearly trying to rebalance that, and for anyone travelling with young children in the quieter June period before UK summer holidays begin in July there will be a lot of new experiences for pre-schoolers to enjoy.
EPCOT's Soarin' switch also starts on 26 May
Disney has also confirmed that Soarin' Across America begins at EPCOT on 26 May 2026. The experience tied to the 250th anniversary of the United States will feature US natural landmarks, cityscapes, and a new orchestration of the classic theme. This marks the beginning of Disney World’s own celebrations to mark the 250 years of the USA.
This is a temporary change to Soarin’, but will last throughout the Summer so returning UK visitors yearning for the nostalgic Soarin’ vibes will be getting an updated and distinctly US experience. If Soarin' is on your shortlist, you will be getting a different version from late May onwards, so expectations should be set before you travel.

What else is part of Cool KIDS' SUMMER?
Beyond the four headline debuts, Disney is also beginning the Cool KIDS' SUMMER which will bring extra entertainment across the whole resort, including:
Jessie's Roundup: A Rip-Roarin' Revue at Magic Kingdom,
GoofyCore at EPCOT,
A Disney Springs dance party on select nights,
Character moments at the water parks
Extra family-focused activities at Pop Century, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach and Port Orleans Riverside.
Disney has also confirmed continued 30-minute early theme park entry for eligible resort guests, plus free admission to one water park on check-in day for Disney Resorts guests from 26th May to 8th September 2026.
Magic in a Minute
For UK families, 26 May 2026 is now one of the key Disney World dates of the summer as four major new experiences start as Disney's summer campaign begins, which includes the beginning of free water park entry on arrival day. However, the launch also arrives straight after Memorial Day weekend, which could make that period busier than many first-time visitors from the UK expect.
