This new price rise means that the cost of a Standard Disney+ subscription has risen by 50% since 2024. This means you’re now paying £50 more for an annual subscription or £60 more for a monthly subscription than you were in 2024.

The new prices began for new subscriptions on 14th October 2026, while existing direct subscribers move over at their first monthly billing date on or after 18th November, or annual renewal on or after 2nd December 2026.

What’s The Cheapest Way To Keep Watching Disney+ In 2026/2027?

The cheapest way to watch Disney+ in the UK is to lock in for 6 months with the 6-month saver plan, or pay annually to effectively get 2 months free. A rolling Standard With Ads subscription costs £6.99 for one month and is the cheapest monthly option.

6 Month Saver Plan Offers 2025 Pricing

Disney+ Premium: Do You Need It?

No, not in my opinion. If you are looking for the cheapest option without ads, Standard is the most cost effective option. Standard includes up to Full HD and two simultaneous streams, where Premium offers up to 4K UHD and HDR, four simultaneous streams and up to Dolby Atmos. The only time when you may want to consider Premium is if you plan to have Disney+ on 4 TVs in a house at once.

The rolling monthly gap has narrowed from £5 to £4, but Premium still costs more. If you do not use its picture, sound or additional streaming capacity, the price rise alone is no reason to upgrade.

Magic In A Minute

A 50% price rise over the last 3 years, and fir the first time in 2026 Standard had a higher price rise than Premium. Prices have gone up across all subscriptions levels, but whether you continue to watch is entirely up to you.
