Disney+ UK Price Rise: Standard With Ads Cost Goes Up On 14 October

Disney+ UK have confirmed in small print on both their website and in social media ads that they are increasing the price of their cheapest subscription option: Standard With Ads 6-month subscription offer. The price rise of £1 applies to both their current 6-month saver offer and the month-by-month subscription option for the lowest priced subscription package. The cost of the saver subscription will increase on 14th October 2026, but the date of the increase when paying for Standard With Ads monthly is unclear.

This increase comes 2 weeks later than last year’s UK Disney+ price increase to all subscription options. The lowest priced UK Disney+ subscription option is now 40% above its 2023 launch price.

We’re taking a look at the exact wording of the small print, the changes in price for UK Disney+ subscribers and whether this looks like it’s an annual trend affecting all subscription tiers of Disney+.

How Much Will Disney+ Increase By & When?

From the small print on the front page of Disney+’s UK website and the ad they are running on Facebook, there is a confirmed price increase of £1 to Standard With Ads subscriptions for anyone renewing or purchasing a 6-month subscription from 14th October 2026.

• Disney+ Standard with Ads 6-month saver contract price increases from £4.99 to £5.99 on 14th October

• Disney+ Standard with Ads month-to-month cost rises from £5.99 to £6.99 after the 6-month period ends on the saver offer. A date for the increase to the cost of paying monthly is not confirmed, but the price rise is.

Currently there is now news as to whether the price increase will also impact Standard Without Ads and Premium level plans. Here’s a copy of both ads from Disney+ UK:

Subscription Cost Increase Since 2023 For Standard With Ads

Since Disney launched their three tier system there has only been one price increase for the Standard With Ads Tier which happened on 30th September 2025. The price increased for the first time since the current tier service launched on 1st November 2023, from £4.99 to £5.99. This confirmed price increase means that there has been a 40% increase to the cost of streaming Disney+ in the UK with the cheapest service since it began in 2023.

Is The Price Rise In The UK The Same As Disney+ In The US?

No, there’s some key differences:

• the US price rise is now in effect, that’s 3 weeks before the UK price rise.

• the US price increase affects all tiers; at this point only the cheapest tier of Disney+ is seeing a price rise in the UK.

• the cheapest tier option for Disney+ in the US got a 4.2% price rise; UK Disney+ is increasing prices by 20%.

While the US standalone ads rise is 4.2%. Disney's UK small print raises the six-month ads saver from £4.99 to £5.99 on 14th October, which is 20% for that saver price. But it also says it’s £6.99 after the minimum 6-month term; compared with today's regular £5.99, that’s a 16.7% increase.

What Does The Small Print Say?

The small print on the Disney+ website and their Facebook ads confirms the date for the offer’s price increase but not the date of the monthly price increase, only that there is an increase. The small print confirms:

It is clear that at some point between the 14th October 2026 and 14th April 2027 there will be a price increase to Standard With Ads monthly subscription cost. Exactly what date that will be is not clear, it could be on the 14th October, but it could also be at another point before 14th April 2027.

Is The Price Rise Confirmed?

Yes, this is shared by Disney+ on their website as part of terms and conditions customers need to know when signing up for the Standard With Ads 6-month saver offer. But it’s only relevant to one tier of their subscription offer. What we don’t know yet is if Disney+ in the UK will rise prices across all tiers because Disney have not issued a statement about price rises yet. We also don’t have a date for the confirmed price rise to the monthly cost of Standard With Ads, but we do know it is before 14th April 2027.

Will Disney+ UK Raise Prices For All Tiers In October?

We don’t know at this point in time, it’s possible, and we suspect likely, but until Disney officially notify customers of a change, the only pricing increase we can confirm is to the lowest tier of Disney+ subscriptions in the UK.
