Disney Cruise Line has revealed its Autumn 2027 and Spring 2028 itineraries, and there are two standout changes for UK travel planners. First, the Disney Wish will operate a limited New York season that UK guests can reach by boarding in Southampton. Meanwhile, the Disney Destiny is moving its homeport to Port Canaveral, making it considerably easier to combine the ship with a Walt Disney World holiday.
Two new Disney Magic Panama Canal crossings are also part of the release, alongside expanded cruises from San Juan, San Diego, Galveston and Florida. It's a sizeable schedule update, so we've sifted through it to find the changes that actually matter for UK Disney Cruise Line guests, whether you want to sail from Britain or combine Walt Disney World with a cruise

Disney's Autumn 2027 and Spring 2028 release covers all eight ships currently operating in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, with new sailings beginning from September 2027 and extending into spring 2028. Interestingly, Disney Believe is not part of this itinerary release, despite being scheduled to enter service in late 2027. So we expect further itineraries for this ship will be added when her inaugural sailing is announced.
What Has Disney Cruise Line Announced for Fall 2027 and Spring 2028?
Disney's Autumn 2027 release does not begin on the same day for every ship. Several previously announced Summer 2027 cruises run into September, so here are the dates where each ship's newly released inventory begins.
Ship | New itineraries begin | First route of the season |
|---|---|---|
Disney Adventure | 2nd Sept 2027 | 4-night Singapore sailing, continuing the Adventure's 3- and 4-night Southeast Asia programme |
Disney Destiny | 10th Sept 2027 | Bahamas/Western Caribbean programme before the ship later relocates to Port Canaveral |
Disney Dream | 10th Sept 2027 | 3- and 4-night Bahamian cruises before moving to Fort Lauderdale in November |

Disney Wonder | 20th Sept 2027 | Baja and Mexican Riviera cruises |
Disney Treasure | 2nd Oct 2027 | Continues 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises |
The Disney Destiny moves to Port Canaveral, the Disney Magic gets two Panama Canal crossings, Disney doubles up ships in San Diego for part of autumn 2027, and the Disney Fantasy will sail to Bermuda from Fort Lauderdale for the first time. There are also more cruises from San Juan, Galveston and Disney's Florida homeports.
There’s more options and more ports to choose from for UK holidaymakers, which means choices if you want to add a Disney Cruise on as part of a Walt Disney World holiday. The three biggest announcements we’ll focus on are: the New York option, the Panama Canal, and Disney Destiny’s changing homeport which gives UK holidaymakers an easier route to exploring a new boat from Florida.
Is Disney Cruise Line Returning to New York in 2027?
Yes, the Disney Wish will arrive in New York in late September 2027 for seven special cruises of between four and seven nights, after its 12-night sailing from Southampton to New York Via Iceland. Not only will it have been The Disney Wish’s first season in the UK and Europe, it will also be the Disney Wish's first New York season.
From New York, the Disney Wish will offer seven sailings covering Bermuda, Canada and New England, including five Bermuda itineraries and three with extended stays there. For any UK travellers already considering New York during the Wish's limited autumn 2027 season, this creates another way to add a Disney cruise without travelling down to Florida first.
Disney's last passenger cruise from New York departed Manhattan on 4th November 2023, when the Disney Dream began a six-night repositioning voyage to San Juan via Bermuda and Tortola. The Wish's arrival in September 2027 will therefore end a gap of almost four years.
Why Does Disney Destiny Moving to Port Canaveral Matter?
Disney Destiny will homeport at Port Canaveral for the first time in Autumn 2027, making the ship easier to pair with a Walt Disney World holiday. And if you’re collecting boats and looking to cruise on as many different boats in the fleets as possible, this is an opportunity to easily add the Destiny to your list with a split stay at Disney World.
Since its maiden voyage on 20th November 2025, Destiny has been a Port Everglades/Fort Lauderdale ship, which is still Florida based, but with a longer transfer time from Disney World. Its inaugural season consisted of four- and five-night cruises to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean.
Although the Destiny visited Port Canaveral during its pre-maiden-voyage arrival in Florida, Autumn 2027 will mark the first time holidaymakers can begin a regular Destiny cruise programme there. The Destiny begins the new season at Fort Lauderdale, continuing its three- to five-night Bahamas and Western Caribbean programme, before moving north to Port Canaveral to offer three- to seven-night Bahamas and Western Caribbean cruises.
It’s just under 60 miles from Disney to Port Canaveral giving a travel time of an hour, traffic depending, so it’s a great option for anyone considering a cruise and Disney World package from the UK. Fort Lauderdale, by comparison, is a 309 mile journey south taking over 3 hours, (traffic depending). So if you've been considering a Walt Disney World stay followed by a few nights on the heroes-and-villains-themed Disney Destiny, the logistics will be much simpler in Autumn 2027.
Are Disney Cruise Line Panama Canal Cruises Returning?
Yes. Disney Magic will operate two 14-night Panama Canal repositioning cruises during Autumn 2027 and Spring 2028, and both will include a new port for Disney Cruise Line. The eastbound voyage in November 2027 will make Disney's first call at Fuerte Amador (Panama City), while the westbound voyage in March 2028 adds a maiden call at Colón, on the Caribbean side of the canal.
The voyages reposition the Disney Magic between California and Texas, tying together its San Diego and Galveston seasons.
Panama Canal cruises aren't new for Disney Cruise Line; the Disney Magic first crossed the canal in 2005 and Disney has returned many times since. What's new for 2027/28 are the Magic's maiden calls at Fuerte Amador and Colón.
Magic in a Minute
Disney Cruise Line's Autumn 2027 and Spring 2028 itineraries have been revealed, and for most British travellers, the two changes worth remembering are Southampton-to-New York and the Disney Destiny moving to Port Canaveral. Then there are the Panama Canal cruises, the return of New York, new ports and the Fantasy's first Bermuda sailing for anyone looking for something less typical. There’s a lot in Disney's latest Cruise Line schedule, and perhaps shows just a glimpse of what is to come in the future as the fleet continues to expand.
