The Beauty and the Beast pantomime at the New Theatre Cardiff brings a Welsh-infused take on the classic Beauty and the Beast tale to the pantomime stage this festive season. On from 5th December 2026 to 3rd January 2027, it's a festive outing for UK Disney fans, couples, and families looking for a festive pantomime with comedy and sparkle.
This is a classic, pantomime retelling of Beauty and the Beast with the familiar tale of the book-loving Belle captured and stuck in the Beast's castle, but as they fall in love and the villagers riot, will the Beast be able to turn back into a human before the final rose petal falls. Expect comedic chaos, local villains like Madame Spite, and the pressure of time running out propelling the story, and slap-stick humour along.

Should Disney Fans Consider Going?
Produced by Imagine Theatre this production adapts the timeless fairy tale of an arrogant Prince (Harri Lloyd-Morgan) cursed by Madame Spite (Jo Osmond) to live as a hideous Beast. His only hope is to find love with a local village girl, Belle (Jade Davies), before the last petal falls from a magic rose. It's the story that Disney fans of both the animated and live films are familiar with.
If you fancy a festive take in a live theatre setting, with some Welsh comedy and humour thrown in then this could be just the afternoon or evening out you're looking for. It also coincides with school Christmas holidays so makes a great festive treat for the family.
