The Aladdin pantomime at Theatre Severn, Shrewsbury promises an adventure filled with genies, dazzling sets, and a whole lot of festive laughter. On from Friday 27th November 2026 to Sunday 3rd January 2027, and produced by Evolution Pantomimes the story follows the adventures of Aladdin, a poor but heroic young man dreaming of a better life and the heart of the beautiful Princess.
The story begins with Aladdin in his chaotic daily life with his mum, Dame Dolly (played by Brad Fitt), and his silly brother (played by Tommy J) which is turned upside down when the wicked sorcerer Abanazar arrives in town.
Abanazar tricks Aladdin into entering the enchanted Cave of Wonders to get a magical oil lamp. But the plan doesn't quite go as expected and Aladdin discovers the lamp's secret: a powerful, wish-granting Genie lives inside. With the help of the Genie and the magical Spirit of the Ring (Cara Dudgeon), Aladdin transforms into a wealthy prince to win the Princess's hand.
However, when Abanazar steals the lamp back and kidnaps the Princess, Aladdin finds himself on a magic carpet ride to outsmart the villain, save the kingdom, and prove that true worth comes from within.
Expect a classic fairy-tale adventure told with slapstick comedy, visual effects, pop music, and plenty of local Shropshire laughs.
