New Music For A New Beginning
The sweeping soundtrack, recorded at the world-famous Abbey Road Studios with 84 musicians from the London Symphony Orchestra, is designed to set the tone for a place where exploration and imagination meet.
The music is composed by acclaimed French composer Philippe Rombi. On Saturday 13th December, the composer offered fans an early surprise appearing at a special resort event for Disneyland fans to personally introduce the musical theme.
Joined by Michel den Dulk, Portfolio Executive Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, Rombi shared insights into the creative journey behind the project and the inspirations that shaped the score.
Unlike the immersive worlds tied directly to Disney films, such as the musically familiar World of Frozen; Adventure Way called for something completely new. It marks the first time since the park's original Discoveryland soundtrack in 1992 that Disneyland Paris has commissioned an entirely original score for a full land.
Making The Music: The Sounds To Expect
To craft this musical identity, Imagineers turned to Rombi, whose cinematic work has earned multiple César Award nominations. His return to Disneyland Paris carries special meaning. Rombi once performed as a pianist at the Disneyland Hotel when the resort first opened.
After deep creative exchanges, concept reviews, and even a visit to the construction site, Rombi developed two core themes evoking adventure, travel, wonder, and the thrill of the unknown. These motifs grew into a 40-minute suite that flows throughout Adventure Way, weaving through its various gardens.
Disneyland Paris News shared the following video their YouTube channel, giving guests a taste of the composition and process of composing the score.
Disney Inspiration
While the score is predominantly original, Rombi sprinkled gentle references to beloved Disney classics in specific areas-subtle touches. You may find subtle musical hints to:
Peter Pan
101 Dalmatians in the Gazebo Garden
Tangled in its dedicated garden.
Guests dining at The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge will even hear a special piano rendition created just for the venue.
For Rombi, the project represents both a creative milestone and a personal honour, he said:
"Creating original music for an entire land in a Disney Park is incredibly rare"
Rombi continues to share his experience, with a clear awareness of the magnitude music plays in bringing the experience to life for guests:
"To be entrusted with this responsibility means a great deal to me. I've always composed from the heart, and knowing the Imagineers connected with my work so deeply is profoundly moving."
Magic In A Minute
As Adventure Way prepares to welcome guests in spring 2026, Rombi's sweeping new score will fill the air as guests enter. It promises to be a defining feature; an orchestral invitation to step into the adventures that await within Disney Adventure World.
