Disneyland Paris is getting a brand-new daytime parade in 2028, marking the first time Disneyland Park has introduced a completely new headline daytime parade since 2017. The still-unnamed parade is being created specifically for Disneyland Paris and will run daily, led by Mickey Mouse and his friends alongside characters from films including Aladdin, The Princess and the Frog, Tangled and Coco.

More than 10,000 hours of research and technical development have already gone into the production, but guests have a long-wait to experience it, even though it was part of this weekend’s Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase at D23.

When is the new Disneyland Paris parade coming?

The new Disneyland Park daytime parade will debut in 2028. That's as precise as Disney is being for now with no exact opening date, season or month. Disney hasn't revealed the parade's name yet either.

For anyone already looking at Disneyland Paris holidays in 2028, that means it is too early to assume the new parade will be running during a particular trip. What we do know is that it represents a significant change for Disneyland Park.

The current Disney Stars on Parade was originally created for Disneyland Paris's 25th anniversary in 2017. By the time the new production arrives, it will have been 11 years since Disneyland Park introduced its last completely new headline daytime parade.

Which characters will be in the new Disneyland Paris parade?

Mickey Mouse and his friends will lead the new daily parade, with Disney already confirming characters from several of its animated films:

  • Genie and Jasmine from Aladdin,

  • Tiana from The Princess and the Frog,

  • Rapunzel from Tangled

  • Miguel from Pixar's Coco

Here is a piece of the new concept art showing the genie float; it looks really cool:

Disney says they will appear on elegant, brand-new, state-of-the-art floats, although it hasn't yet revealed the complete character line-up or shown every float.

The power of dreams is the parades main storytelling arc, and floats will be built around that theme. Bringing together older and newer characters rather than concentrating on one particular film or era.

The scale of the work already going into this new parade is quite something. Disney says the parade has required more than 10,000 hours of research and technical development, while almost 225 sketches have already been produced for costumes, wigs and make-up.

Dana Harrel, Vice President Entertainment at Disneyland Paris, says the team is working across the float designs, costumes and music to create a production intended to appeal across generations.

Disneyland Paris is clearly heavily investing in the power of storytelling as it continues to transform park experiences following the opening of Disney Adventure World.

Will the new parade replace Disney Stars on Parade?

Disney has confirmed that the 2028 parade will become a new anchor of Disneyland Park's daytime entertainment, but it has not announced a final performance date for Disney Stars on Parade.

It looks logical that the new headline parade will ultimately take its place, but until Disneyland Paris announces how and when that transition happens, we don't have a confirmed closing date for the current production. Until then, Disney Stars on Parade remains part of Disneyland Paris's current entertainment offering and continues to run through Disneyland Park.

So if you want to see Disney Stars on Parade before it eventually changes, there is no need to panic just yet.

Is This Announcement From D23 Big Enough To Book A Holiday Around?

This is probably the smallest of the three big Disneyland Paris announcements from D23. A new parade will change part of a day in Disneyland Park, but it isn't something we'd plan an entire trip around in the way a major new land or attraction might be.

Disneyland Paris holidays for 2028 aren't bookable yet, although Disney has confirmed that UK package sales through 31 March 2028 will open in September. Even then, we won't know whether the new parade will be running during those dates until Disney gives us a more precise debut window. For now, enjoy Disney Stars on Parade and keep an eye on the news for more information about this parade that is coming to Disneyland Paris.

Magic In A Minute

A new Disneyland Paris day-time parade is in production with new floats and a story theme, but it won’t be in Disneyland Park for guests to watch until some time in 2028.
