Changes at Manchester Airport

Anyone heading to Manchester Airport for drop-offs, pick-ups, or on-site holiday parking for a Walt Disney World or Florida holiday will find new names for parking structures have come into effect from today. Manchester Airport is also renaming Terminal 1 and switching its car parks to a new numbered system (P1-P16) from 5th March 2026.

For UK travellers doing the classic pre-dawn drive, airport hotel stay, or family drop-off before Orlando, this is the kind of update worth noting now, especially if you've already pre-booked parking.

Manchester Airport Parking Name Changes: P1 to P16

To make signage easier, car parks are being renamed into a simple numbered system (P1-P16) which is in effect from 5th March 2026. You may have already seen the sign changes, which are coming into effect during a busy month of changes to parking at Manchester Airport. P3 (T2 West Multi Storey) is changing to a barrierless car park from 25th March 2026, meaning vehicles are recognised automatically and payment is made after leaving (online, by phone, or via Auto Pay).

Manchester Airport is advising people who have parking already booked to check their confirmations as old names may be used instead of the new names. Manchester Airport said:

"If you have already booked parking, please check your confirmation email or pre-journey information before you travel as your car park name may have changed."

Here are the old names which you may find on your bookings alongside the new names for car parking which are in use from today:

  • P1 = T2 Meet & Greet (previously T2 M&G)

  • P2 = T2 Overheight

  • P3 = T2 West Multi Storey (previously T2 West MSCP)

  • P4 = T2 Park & Walk

  • P10 = Drop & Go Express (listed as "coming soon")

  • P12 = Mid Stay Multi Storey (previously T1 MSCP)

  • P13 = T3 Meet & Greet

  • P14 = T3 Multi Storey (previously T3 MSCP)

  • P15 = T3 Mid Stay (previously T1 / T3 Mid Stay)

  • P16 = Drop & Go

Why this matters for Disney World and Florida flights from Manchester

Most Florida trips from Manchester involve at least one of the following which are all impacted by he name changes: airport parking, a drop-off, travelling with kids, or lots of luggage. The changes above are mainly about signage and naming, but that's exactly what you rely on when you're trying to get check-in on time.

All direct Florida flights from Manchester are currently departing from Terminal 2 so note the changes linked to Terminal 2 parking.

This update is most relevant if you:

  • booked parking months ago for a peak-date Florida holiday like Easter school holidays

  • are being dropped off and telling someone "just follow signs for X car park" because that is what you are used to.

And just remember that even if you have flown recently, from March 2026, your old mental map may not match what you see on the road signs.

What to do before you travel

Here’s a quick and easy checklist to ensure your Florida travel day runs smoothly and you avoid any panicked moments because of the changing car park areas at Manchester Airport:

  • Search your email for your Manchester parking confirmation and note the new P-number.

  • Double-check your terminal close to travel day (especially if schedules shift).

  • If someone's dropping you off, text them the new car park / drop-off label ("P16 Drop & Go", not just "Drop & Go").

Terminal Name Changing at Manchester Airport

A significant change is also happening with the Terminal Building names, although this will only affect Florida holidaymakers leaving the UK on an indirect flight with RyanAir. For anyone heading to Disneyland Paris by plane, this change is important to note.

Manchester Airport says it's moving towards a simpler two-terminal setup:

  • Terminal 1 will be renamed Terminal 3 from 5 March 2026

  • All passengers except those flying with Ryanair are now using Terminal 2

Ryanair passengers are using the terminal currently labelled Terminal 1, (which becomes Terminal 3).

Magic in a Minute

From 5th March 2026, Manchester Airport is renaming Terminal 1 to Terminal 3 and switching car parks to numbered signs, (P1-P16), so if you've pre-booked parking for your Florida trip, check your confirmation now and save yourself a last-minute scramble.
