If you're a UK Disney fan hoping to stream Wicked on Disney+, you're not alone. So many Disney fans see the immense storytelling on display in the Wicked films and assume that it’s a Disney film, but it isn’t. And despite the universal excitement for Wicked this December, the question is Wicked on Disney+ might not be the answer Disney fans are hoping for.
No, Wicked is not available on Disney Plus, but it is available to stream from other services in the UK.
The musical-to-movie adaptation is produced and distributed by Universal Pictures, not Disney, which means its streaming rights sit with Universal's partners. And unlike the recent surprise of all of the Shrek films coming to Disney+ this December, Wicked is not going to follow suit.

Why Wicked Might Be on Disney+
It’s easy to see why you may think Wicked would be available on Disney+. It has become a big part of streaming culture in the UK and when you think of good movies, often you think of Disney. Here are a few other reasons why you may think it would be available on Disney+ in the UK:
Disney+ has expanded its catalogue to include more musicals and big franchise films.
Some fans assumed Disney acquired streaming rights because of the film's tone and popularity.
The line between studio brands has blurred this December and Universal property has made it’s way to Disney+ in the UK, so it’s a fair assumption.
Will Wicked be streaming on Disney Plus?
No. Wicked is not expected to stream on Disney Plus.
The film is produced and distributed by Universal Pictures, so Disney+ does not hold the rights. There are currently no plans for it to come to the platform.
What UK Fans Should Know
If you're planning a Disney+ movie night, Wicked won't be appearing there, at least not under current rights deals. However, Disney+ continues adding major musical and fantasy titles, so there's plenty to enjoy this December, and you can always watch Wicked elsewhere.
Magic in a Minute
Wicked isn't on Disney+, and it isn't expected to arrive there. It is streaming on platforms that hold Universal rights to the film including Sky Cinema, NOW TV, Prime TV, Apple TV and available YouTube .
