When Was The Forbidden Forest Experience Last In The UK?

The experience previously took place at Arley Hall & Gardens, near Northwich in Cheshire, where it debuted in 2021 before returning for a second season. That last UK season ran from 15 October 2022 to 15 January 2023, making December's opening its first UK appearance in almost four years.

Bolesworth Castle is a new venue for the returning attraction, as Arley Hall is currently home to the Nightmare Before Christmas Light Trail which is running until 2nd January 2027.

What To Expect?

Returning visitors will recognise the format of an illuminated woodland walk featuring magical creatures, scenes inspired by the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films, and interactive spellcasting. However, organisers have confirmed features new to UK audiences, including the Golden Egg and a Death Eater. The Bolesworth visit is an updated version of the returning experience, rather than an entirely new attraction.

The 1.95km trail features encounters with creatures including a Hippogriff and Niffler, opportunities to try a wand duel and cast a Patronus, and photo opportunities inspired by the wizarding world. A themed village also offers Harry Potter themed food, drinks and official merchandise.

Magic In A Minute

Harry Potter: A Forbidden Experience is returning to the UK for the first time since 2022 at a new venue: Bolesworth Castle, Cheshire from Thursday 10th December 2026. Tickets to this outdoor evening light trail and interactive experience go on general sale on 3rd November, with time slots currently advertised from between 4.30pm to 9pm.

All ages are welcome. As the experience takes place outdoors on woodland paths, check the attraction's accessibility information before booking and plan for winter conditions.
