Are tickets sold out?

Tickets for this event have sold out in less than 24 hours, showing just how much demand there is here in the UK for Disney events like this. While there is a small chance of getting in on a walk-up this is by no means guaranteed, so if you are thinking of travelling to Shoreditch specifically for the event, don’t unless you have secured a ticket.

What is the Grogu Cafe?

The Grogu Cafe is a limited time pop-up experience between Friday, 15th May to Sunday, 17th May 2026 at the Kachette Annexe in Shoreditch. While the pop up is predominately about the drinks and snacks, Star Wars fans can also get their hands on exclusive Star Wars and Grogu-inspired MINISO blind boxes, accessories, and plushies.

The new Grogu Cafe feels like a natural, elevated extension of the UK’s Star Wars Day May the 4th celebrations. It successfully stretches the Star Wars Day festivities throughout the entire month, especially as the highly anticipated release of The Mandalorian & Grogu, which hits IMAX and standard cinemas on 22nd May 2026 in the UK. After years of following Din Djarin and his tiny green foundling on Disney+, seeing them make the leap to the big screen is a watershed moment for the franchise.

What’s on the menu?

The menu for the event is small, and what you would expect from a trendy pop-up café. It features up and coming UK brands, included PerfecTed, the Steven Bartlett backed brand that many UK Disney fans may recall watching on Dragon’s Den.

It’s a roughly £20 café experience for a couple, with prices on a par with big brand coffee chains like Costa for specialty drinks. Drinks and snacks are all space themed, offering a UK twist on the Oga’s Cantina drinks and snacks vibe outside of Battu in Disney World. For any Disney fans missing their fix of Star Wars inspired snacks and drinks in the Disney Pars, this event might just bring the spark home to the UK.

Is it suitable for families?

The Mandalorian and Grogu cinematic release

Not only is this a free fan experience for anyone living down South, it’s serving as the UK’s hype engine for the biggest Star Wars cinematic event in years. In the US, the film release coincides with a reimaging of the adventure guests go on in the Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run in both Disney World and Disneyland, California. Riders will be able to team up with Mando and Grogu to track down bounties for Hondo Ohnaka across iconic planets like Tatooine, Coruscant, and Endor.

Coming to cinemas May 22 2026

The UK’s café event is being held the weekend before the release of the new Mandalorian and Grogu film. After years of following Din Djarin and his tiny green foundling on Disney+, seeing them make the leap to the big screen is a massive moment for the fan favourite franchise.

Is this event worth going to for UK Star Wars and Disney Fans?

Yes, this is worth going to if you have a ticket and you’re local to the Shoreditch area and live down South. For Star Wars fans up North, in Wales and Scotland this a great event that is just too far away to justify a special trip for. A trip to the local cinema the following weekend is going to be the best way to enjoy the Star Wars Mandalorian and Grogu hype for most UK Star Wars and Disney fans.

While this a great event for the a die-hard Mandalorian fans, theme park enthusiasts missing the Disney bubble, or just someone who appreciates the Disney Magic happening here in the UK, this event is one for those inside the M25 corridor.

Magic in a minute

It’s a great event if you’re based in London, but with tickets already sold out, Disney and Star Wars fans in the UK may be better waiting until the following weekend and enjoying treats at the cinema rather than trying there chance travelling to Shoreditch for this 30 minute pop-up café experience.
