The Disney Store “Reels of Magic” pin trading event in London’s Oxford Street will have more slots available to book as the event is on for over twice as long. The Manchester Trafford Store event is also on very early in the morning, running before Selfridge’s, (and the rest of the Trafford Centre) opens to the general public.
How To Book Tickets?
Tickets for the event have not yet been released, but will be released on Wednesday 21st October at 5pm via a link Disney Store UK will share to their stories. On the website, Disney also say:
"Links will be added here and to our Disney Pins fan page once available."
This suggests that the link will also be added to their information page at 5pm for both events.
The Manchester Event Is Exciting But It’s From 7am On A Weekday
While we are delighted to see a Disney Store pin trading event coming further North in the UK, but why are the times, duration, and slot length different. The most limiting difference has to be the time of the event.
The early start is likely to limit the number of people who can attend. The Trafford Centre area is notoriously busy during rush hour and most people need to be heading into work or school on a Wednesday morning between 7 and 9.45am. The event times effectively rule out school aged pin-traders and anyone with a full-time job, whereas the London event is timed to work well for school aged children and most people with a 9-5/6 job.
What Pins Can You Buy and Why Consider Trying To Get An Earlier Slot?
4 location exclusive pins for Selfridges Trafford Centre concession store and 5 location exclusive pins for the Disney Store, London event will be available from the Reels of Magic collection. Both locations will have:
an event exclusive pin,
a limited edition pin set
an event pin board
People at the event will also have a first chance to buy pin from the new online collection. Disney Store state that quantities on the day will be limited and that they cannot guarantee quantities for each time slot.
Disney Pin Traders may want to get the earliest slot at both events if they can, especially if it’s important to buy event exclusive and limited edition merch. Pins will feature a mix of standard designs and jumbo pins but are limited to two pins per design per person and will not be available to purchase before the event starts.
What Can You Trade On The Day?
Disney Store have shared what you can and cannot trade at the event on their website, they say:
“Okay to Trade:
When trading with a Cast Member or Guest, Guests should offer a pin that is not currently displayed on the Cast Member's lanyard or trading board.
Pins from other business units of The Walt Disney Company (e.g., ABC, ESPN, National Geographic) may be traded, as determined by the Cast Member.
