Today has been a day of announcements as Josh D’Amaro takes the helm as CEO of the Walt Disney World Company. For Disney Cruise fans, there was a big announcement as the name of the ninth ship to join the fleet was announced: Disney Believe.

The Announcement

As part of the Annual Shareholder’s Meeting, Josh Damaro shared that the next Disney cruise ship joining the rapidly growing fleet will be called the Disney Believe. This will be the fourth ship to join the Wish Class of Meyer-Werft, designed and built, Wish Class cruise ships. Josh D’Amaro said:

"We have five more ships on the way, and today I’m excited to announce the name of our ninth ship, the Disney Believe.”"

In an emotional classic Disney storytelling style reel offering 90’s vibes, Disney Cruise Line unveiled that the Disney Believe will be setting sail in late 2027:

For UK Disney cruise line fans this is great news, and 2027 is shaping up to be exciting for the Wish class of ships as the Disney Wish will be sailing from Southampton for the first time in 2027 too.

Disney Believe Theming

The Disney Believe is joining the Wish fleet which holds about 4,000 passengers per boat. Each ship is unique in its storytelling style theming that runs throughout the class, with each ships theming shaping guest experiences. So far the fleet has:

  • The Disney Wish with Rapunzel at the stern has a theme of enchantment

  • The Disney Dream with Peter Pan and Captain Hook at stern is adventure themed.

  • The Disney Destiny features Spiderman and is heroes and villains themed.

Just as these three ships have their own unique motifs and storytelling theme, so too will the Disney Believe. Her motif is going to be promise and possibilities, but Disney have not yet revealed how this will be captured in the storytelling theme of the boat or who the stern character will be.
