Disney Outlets - time to shop!

If you enjoy shopping at Disney Character Warehouse, (the Disney Outlet stores), when you go to Florida, there’s a change coming to the rules around exchanges and refunds in 2026. For many UK shoppers, this change won’t make a huge difference, but there does appear to be a changing landscape in the outlet shops that visitors need to be aware of.

In this news article we are looking at what the new rules will be for refunds and exchanges on purchases made from February 202, how this affects UK shoppers, and the bigger picture in Disney Outlet Shops right now.

Changes To Character Warehouse Returns

From 1st February 2026, Disney Character Warehouse shops, the Disney Outlet stores, will no longer allow refunds or exchanges on purchases. There are two Disney Character Warehouse shops in the Outlet Malls near Disney World and the change is affecting both. They are:

  • Disney Character Warehouse at Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets

  • Disney Character Warehouse at Orlando International Premium Outlets in International Drive.

In a post placed outside the store, and shared by Dreamtableapp you can clearly see the changes coming into effect:

The message includes the all important information that:

"No refunds, exchanges or returns will be accepted; all items will be sold as-is with no exceptions."

The sign also details that for purchases made on or before 31st January 2026, refunds or exchanges will be available for 30 days after with a valid receipt.

Reasons For The Change

The changes are being attributed to the growing number of resellers picking up and selling on stock bought in the Outlet stores. There are constantly reports of personal shoppers clearing shelves and baskets of deals, leaving the average tourist shopper or local Disney Parks visitor with nothing.

The Character Warehouse stores have become infamous for their long lines, as people queue outside to get in. There are often TikToks and Instagram videos showing the length of the line, as people wait to try and grab a piece of Disney merchandise for as much as 90% off the prices charged in the parks. The long wait times and subsequent disappointment from some visitors is again being attributed to the increasing number of resellers in the Character Warehouse stores.

People on social media are speculating that Disney is bringing in this rule to try and limit occurrences of personal shoppers hosting livestreams in the shop and hoarding stock in the outlet shops. It is said they then return items en masse which is spoiling the beauty of the discounts for the many people dropping in to get a bargain.

This Is Not Affecting Shops In The Theme Parks

This rule is only affecting shops in the outlets, and not the shops in the theme parks. So if you don’t shop for your Disney merchandise at the outlets, which are off-site then this new will not affect you.

Why this affects UK tourists

Many Disney World visitors head to the outlet malls to try and grab a bargain while enjoying their Florida holiday. The Outlets offer the following benefits for UK shoppers:

  • Genuine Disney World merchandise that has or sometimes still is, available in the parks at good discounts. It is possible to pick up Disney Parks t-shirts for $1.99.

  • Genuine Disney products and quality

  • More affordable gifts for people back home

  • A way to stretch the souvenir budget

For many UK visitors though, this change will not have a huge impact, as tourists want the merchandise to wear in the parks, or take home. The only downside is that there is nowhere to try anything on, so you need to be sure on the size, as it cannot be swapped or returned from February.

May UK visitors will also only visit the outlets once during a two week trip, so again taking items back was less likely in the first place. It is still however a change shoppers need to be aware of.

Magic In A Minute

From February 1st 2026, items bought at Disney Character Warehouse locations will be sold as-is. Refunds, exchanges and returns will not be accepted under any circumstance.
