Cheshire Oaks Disney Store: Why An Early November Opening Date Looks Likely

Riding the Magic
On 22nd October Disney officially confirmed our 14th September report that Disney Store is coming to Cheshire Oaks. The shop will be an outlet and Disney are stating an "Autumn 2026" opening. We were on the ground at Cheshire Oaks yesterday to find out some more details, including asking exactly when the store is opening as Autumn is fading fast. And we've also pulled up last year Disney's Christmas season, which started on 6th November when all pop-up stores opened in Selfridge's for the Most Magical Christmas season.
When Is Disney Store Opening: Autumn Is Fading
We expect it to be imminently by the second week of November at the latest: here's why.
We know from talking with Cast Members in Trafford Centre Disney Store last week that they expect a stock change for the Winter Season on or around the 1st November 2026. They have been running on mainly replenished stock since the 14th September store opening.
We also know that in retail circles, winter stock usually comes in around the last week of October to the first two weeks of November. November, after the children go back following October half-term is usually the changing point. Taking the broader scope, this gives Disney a three-week opening to get the new Disney Store Outlet open on their Autumn timeline.
At Cheshire Oaks, the ice skating and Christmas Market area is opening for half-term on 23rd October and will be open until 3rd January, but the large iconic Christmas tree is not having it's annual grand lighting until the 6th November 2026. We know from the Cheshire Oaks website that Christmas opening hours opens in a new tab begin on 29th October 2026. The return of extended opening hours for the festive season marks the end of half-term events at Cheshire Oaks. Between 29th October and 6th November we expect the Disney Store to open, to fit the Autumn 2026 timeline.
It's also worth mentioning that last year Disney Store were scheduled to open the pop-ups for a Most Magical Christmas,n Selfridge's in Birmingham and Manchester stores on 22nd October, they missed the deadline only opening the London Selfridge's pop-up on that date, Instead the pop-up shops in Birmingham, Manchester and Trafford Centre were delayed and put back until the 6th November 2025. This was just in time for the event launch which marked the start of Christmas and the winter season.
Disney Have Cast Members In Training
We can confirm that Disney Store have hired Cast Members for the store who are currently in training. We know that the hiring process was in full swing in mid-September, and can confirm that Cast Members are currently being trained. This points to the store opening being only a few weeks off.
We did look at how Disney open stores and the timelines they give when sharing information in our When will Cheshire Oaks Disney Store Open article at the end of September. Disney notoriously give short notice for events, and we expect this to be the same.
Christmas Is Profitable
Disney has explicitly stated that the new 1,300 sq ft pop-up will feature seasonal merchandise and discounts of up to 40%. Cheshire Oaks sees its highest footfall from early November through December. It makes zero financial sense for Disney to miss the early Christmas shopping rush, so a late October or early November launch is the most strategic financial move. Plus, from a shoppers perspective this is when most people are looking to spend money and if the Disney Store isn't there, you'll go elsewhere as you may do already this October half-term as Cheshire Oaks already has an interesting range of licensed Disney merch available from other retailers.
The Unit Is Chosen: It's Not Unit 170
Despite some reports circulating online that Disney Store will take over Unit 170, we can confirm from being on the ground that Mulberry currently occupies that space, and unit 169 too. Mulberry have also confirmed to us that they are not aware of a move happening within the next couple of weeks, pointing us in a different direction for the store location.

Riding the Magic
As we noted when Disney confirmed the outlet store, the vacant Radley unit perfectly matches Disney's confirmed 1,300sq ft requirement and remains the most likely location.
No Determined Date, Yet
We wish we could give you a definite date for the opening, but we can't as Disney have not officially announced it. Our sources at Cheshire Oaks originally said Disney ambitiously wanted to be in by mid-October, and they were right that it was ambitious as the time has been and gone. The same sources told us early November was more likely, and have since doubled-down on this timeline. We are expecting the first week of November, and will let you know as soon as we find out.
Magic In A Minute
There's no fixed date for the opening but Autumn 2026 is going to be in the next couple of weeks. Expect the store to be open by mid-November, before Christmas and in time for Christmas shopping, but don't expect to be able to visit during half-term.
