Disney Fantasy Cruise Missing Liverpool Stop This Year

Disney Fantasy

If you’re a Disney fan looking forward to seeing the Disney Fantasy dock in Liverpool this week, we’ve got some bad news. The beautiful Fantasy, which set sail from Southampton yesterday was due to dock in Liverpool for the day on 11th September. However, the complete itinerary has been changed due to bad weather concerns.

In a last minute change of plans the British Isles itinerary has been completely scrapped, and the cruise will now instead head east to Norway and Belgium. That means that there will not be a Disney cruise boat docked in Liverpool at all this year. As sad as that is for cruise boat fans, ourselves included, the safety of all onboard must come first.

Why change the cruise itinerary?

Disney Cruise Line confirmed that safety was the main reason behind the reroute. Strong winds and rough seas have been forecast along the west coast of the UK which would have impacted the ship’s ability to dock in ports in Ireland, England, and Scotland.

To ensure the safety of all the ship has a revised and exciting itinerary for guests. (Us UK Disney boat spotters however are left a bit adrift)!

The New Itinerary

Here’s what the updated seven-night sailing looks like:

  • Day 1: Monday 8th September: Depart Southampton (no change)

  • Day 2: Tuesday 9th September: Day at sea

  • Day 3: Wednesday 10th September: Haugesund, Norway (was Cobh, Ireland)

  • Day 4: Thursday 11th September: Olden, Norway, (was Liverpool, England)

  • Day 5: Friday 12th September: Stavanger, Norway (was Glasgow, Scotland)

  • Day 6: Saturday 13th September: Day at sea

  • Day 7: Sunday 14th September: Zeebrugge, Belgium (was Portland, England)

  • Day 8: Monday 15th September: Return to Southampton

So, while the ship is still sailing from Southampton the ports guests will get to experience are completely different. We believe that Disney Cruise Line have arranged refunds for guests who had pre-booked their trips at the UK destinations.

About the Disney Fantasy in the UK

2025 is the first year that the Disney Fantasy has set sail from a UK port, and Disney fans around the UK have been hoping to get a glimpse of her as she docks in ports around the UK.

One of Disney’s Dream class ships, the Fantasy welcomes up to 4,000 guests per sailing. Her stern character is Dumbo, adding a lovely nostalgic homage to the classic animated film and the opening day ride still located in Fantasyland, in Magic Kingdom.

Sadly, aside from seeing her in port in Southampton, there will be no more chances to see the Disney Fantasy around the UK, as the 8th September British Isles cruise was the last of the season for Disney cruises around the UK.

What’s Next for the Disney Fantasy?

Following this sailing, the Disney Fantasy has only two more sailings out of Southampton this year before her first visit to the UK is over.

  1. September 15th: 7 night Norwegian Fjords cruise

  2. September 22nd: 7ight Western-Europe cruise

After that she will head into dry dock for some updates and refreshes, before leaving the UK on 3rd November 2025. The Disney Fantasy will leave Southampton on 3rd November on a 13-night transatlantic sailing to Port Canaveral, Florida.

After crossing the Atlantic, the Fantasy is set to be based in Port Canaveral for the winter and into 2026 where she will be sailing mostly four- and five-night Bahamas cruises.

2026 Disney UK Cruises

When Disney Cruises return to the British Isles in 2026, it will not be the Fantasy returning, but rather the Disney Dream. Bookings are now being taken for next summer and you can take a look at the cruises available on Discover New and Upcoming Cruises from the UK.

While it’s disappointing for guests and boat-spotters, this change is focused on the safety of all and was the right call. In the port of Liverpool, the Fantasy will be missed this year. Hopefully next year the port of Liverpool will get to see a magnificent Disney cruise boat again.
