Immersive entertainment pioneers Secret Cinema, in partnership with Disney Theatrical Group, have announced their next major production: a world-premiere live experience based on the blockbuster Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Secret Cinema presents Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: The Immersive Adventure will set sail in London in February 2027. The production is scheduled for a strictly limited 10-week run and will be the inaugural show at Secret Cinema's highly anticipated new permanent venue on the Greenwich Peninsula.

A New Flagship Home in Greenwich

The upcoming production marks the first time the multi-billion-dollar film franchise has been adapted into a fully immersive, in-person theatrical event. Subject to planning permission, the experience will be housed in Secret Cinema's newly revealed long-term flagship venue, located just a short walk from the North Greenwich tube station and The O2.

Audiences can expect to be transported directly into the world of the 2003 film Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. According to the organizers, guests will have the freedom to roam detailed, cinematic-scale environments inspired by the pirate haven of Tortuga and the legendary Black Pearl.

The experience will feature:

  • Live theatrical performances and interactive storytelling

  • Epic aerial stunts and fearless sword fights

  • A live band bringing Hans Zimmer's iconic score to life

  • A high-energy maritime celebration to conclude each evening

Expanding the Disney Experience

The project represents a significant collaboration between Secret Cinema's multi-award-winning creative team and Disney Theatrical Group, signalling Disney's continued expansion into the immersive entertainment space.

Merritt Baer, Artistic Director of Secret Cinema and Co-Founder of TodayTix said:

"Get ready for high jinks on the high seas! With epic aerial stunts, fearless swordfights and a cast of your favourite swashbuckling pirates, where better to invite audiences than raucous Tortuga and aboard the Black Pearl for the ultimate cinematic adventure,"
Merritt Baer, Artistic Director of Secret Cinema

Angelo Desimini, Senior Vice President of Licensed Partnerships & Brand Management at Disney Theatrical Group, echoed the enthusiasm for the new format:

"Together, we are reimagining how fans engage with this beloved property, not as spectators but as participants in a live experience that is communal, cinematic, and unmistakably Disney"
Angelo Desimini
