For years, the Heeler family has dominated our television screens, but 2026 marks a massive shift in how you can experience the magic of Bluey. Bluey is moving from screen to theme park, giving families the chance to step directly into her world. But for UK fans, the big question is: do you stick to the more local adventure at Alton Towers, or save up for the big trip to Walt Disney World?
Both parks are launching big Bluey expansions, but they offer completely different experiences. Alton Towers debuts a world-first junior coaster in Spring 2026, meanwhile Disney’s Animal Kingdom is launching a meet and greet experience and educational interactive game in Summer 2026.

Bluey at Alton Towers
A world-first Bluey junior coaster named Here Come The Grannies is opening at Alton Towers in Spring 2026. This ride will join the Bluey experiences already on offer, including a meet-and-greet with the Heeler family and a live experience in Big Fun Showtime.
Here Come The Grannies
This is a junior rollercoaster, with a track by UK manufacturer Garmendale, designed specifically as a first-time coaster for little ones. If you want to see whether your child will enjoy a bigger theme park holiday, like a trip to Walt Disney World, this is going to be a great ride to gauge their response on.
The theme of the new Bluey coaster is based on the fan-favourite "Grannies" episode from Bluey season one. Expect to see Rita and Janet driving their car, causing absolute mischief (and yes, there will be "flossing"). You can remind yourself of the episode below:
The queue line has been themed with younger visitors in min, as it is themed as Bluey’s house, with selfie spots and play areas to keep children from getting bored while waiting.
Other Bluey Experiences
The headline Bluey attraction is the junior rollercoaster, however the Bluey experience won’t end there at Alton Towers. You can also:
meet Bluey, Bingo, Bandit, and Chilli at Big Fun Showtime.
You can stay in the Cbeebies Land Hotel in a Bluey themed room. Rooms sleep up to five people and are a perfect replica of the Heeler home, including bunk beds just like the girls have.
Bluey at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Disney's Animal Kingdom is taking a different approach to their Bluey attraction, but it is part of a wider Bluey expansion across the parks and cruise line. Rather than a thrill ride, they are building an immersive, story-driven experience inside the Conservation Station. It's less about "Grannies" chaos and more about exploring the Australian outback with the Heelers.
There will be two key experiences: a meet-and-greet and Butterfly Keepy Uppy. The interactive game will help kids learn about nature while playing the show's most famous game. The area also features Australian wildlife, blending the cartoon world with real-world education.
While the land opens in Summer 2026, Florida summers are incredibly hot and humid. For UK families with children under primary school age, November 2026 is the closest sweet spot after opening for lower temperatures, crowds and pricing. The weather is cooler for the kids, and you'll miss the initial opening rush.
Which Bluey Experience?
This is an easy choice for most UK based families; head to Alton Towers.
Alton Towers offers more of a ride experience and the option to stay over night in a Bluey theme room if you are looking for that little extra magic. Alton Towers is also offering the magic of a world first experience and a true ride experience, rather than attraction experience.
If you are planning that major Disney holiday this year and want to slow the pace down this experience is going to do that; focussing on immersion and learning rather than thrills. It's a great way to break up a busy Florida trip with something educational and familiar for the little ones. Plus it will last longer than the coaster experience.
