A New Storyline with a Familiar Ride
While the ride track will remain the same, meaning you’ll still experience the same high-speed launch and epic twists and turns, the story is getting a total Muppet overhaul, Say goodbye to Aerosmith and hello to the rockin’ Muppet legends that are The Electric Mayhem.
In the new storyline, you’ll get a VIP tour of the legendary G-Force Records where The Electric Mayhem are busy jammin’. Their manager, Scooter is doing his best to get the band to their biggest Hollywood concert ever, but they’re too busy rocking out.
With the help of a very fast limousine and a little tech from Muppet Labs, you’ll join the frantic race across town to get them to the show on time. The journey will take you past iconic Tinseltown landmarks, all given a wonderfully chaotic Muppets twist. And to keep that ride adrenaline pumping, you’ll hear The Electric Mayhem playing their own versions of classic rock hits.

Planning Your Trip: What You Need To Know
The important bit for your holiday planning; the closure details. Rock ‘n Roller Coaster will remain open for the rest of 2025, with a closure date of early 2026 expected. This will allow for the refurbishment which is expected to take a chunk of the year, reopening again later in 2026.
If you’re heading to Hollywood Studios early in 2026 this ride isn’t going to be open. If this is a must-do ride, you’re going to be a little disappointed. If you’re still in the planning stages for a Walt Disney World 2026 trip and Roc ‘n’ Roller Coaster is on your must ride list, consider a trip closer to Christmas.
The big guitar is staying. For fans of the huge ruby red and white guitar in the courtyard, you can breathe a sigh of relief. The guitar is getting a Muppet themed psychedelic colour scheme and nothing more. If you’re wondering why it’s getting the vibrant shades, it’s been inspired by a classic Muppet car paint job. So, if you love a picture by the guitar when you visit, you can still get one, just with a Muppet flair.
A Nostalgic Rockin’ Addition
While saying goodbye to Aerosmith after so many years is a little bittersweet, the thought of a new Muppets-themed rollercoaster is incredibly exciting. The Muppets are, in our opinion, a great fit for a chaotic, high-energy ride. Its good to see The Muppets given such a prominent place in Hollywood Studios following the reimagining of Muppet Courtyard, Hopefully, the Miss Piggy New York fountain will be in there somewhere!
