For any UK fans who want to be first in line to experience the new ride, start looking at pricing a Summer 2026 trip to Walt Disney World from the UK. If you’re desperate to experience Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster featuring Aerosmith time is running out; you’ll need to hunt out a last minute 2025 holiday.

A Rock and Roll Ride With A Muppet Twist

This high-speed rollercoaster is being completely rethemed by Imagineers in 2026 with the Electric Mayhem band from The Muppets taking centre stage in a rock-and-roll adventure. Expect your ride experience to be packed with music, chaos, and unmistakable Muppet humour.

The new storyline will throw guests into the middle of the Electric Mayhem’s biggest concert ever! If only the band can get there on time! Scooter is desperately trying to round up Dr. Teeth, Animal, Janice, Floyd, and the rest of the gang for the show.

Meanwhile, a team of penguin audio engineers are doing their best to keep things running behind the scenes.

Muppets Ride News

For long-time Muppet fans this attraction is going to be a big deal. Not only will the parks have been missing a Muppet Attraction for around a year in Summer 2026, there is also a new audio animatronic Muppet to look forward to.

Following the closure of Muppet Courtyard, the areas last day was 7th June 2025, Hollywood Studios has lost a bit of Muppet magic, and this retheming will be welcome for Muppet fans.

Scooter is going to be brought to life as an Audio-Animatronic figure and Disney are hinting that other Muppet characters may appear to. However, they are keeping details under wraps for now…

The Experience

If you’re a lover of Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster’s ride experience, it doesn’t look like that is going to be changing much at all. So if this is a bucket list ride for you when visiting Walt Disney World from the UK, our advice would be to avoid booking from January 2025 until Autumn 2026. That way you won’t miss out on your favourite ride experience.

So, what will the ride experience be? This is what we know so far. Riders will still launch off in a super-stretch limousine on a high-speed race through a reimagined Hollywood filled with Muppet-style landmarks and back stage mayhem. We have our fingers crossed that the Miss Piggy Fountain from Muppets Courtyard is in there somewhere.

Expect the ride to be filled with bright colours, slapstick humour, and plenty of chaotic Muppet energy. And yes, you will be whirling round to completely new tunes. The soundtrack will feature rick tracks by the Electric Mayhem themselves. Will he high-octane vibe thrill seekers love on this ride remain? Only time will tell.

Outside the building the red guitar is getting a psychedelic Muppet makeover with wild colours, groovy patterns, and a golden piano key tribute to Dr Teeth.

What does the Opening Timeline Mean For UK Disney Trip Planners?

If you love Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster and it’s a must ride experience for you, no matter the theming you need to plan your trip for before 31st December 2025 or September 2026 onwards. Disney have only said that the ride will open in Summer 2026 and if you want to avoid the queues, be sure you’ll get that ride experience, and miss the inevitable long queues at the opening book from Autumn 2026 onwards.

There is currently no fixed date for the ride’s closure or the rides opening. Disney have given a wide window. Disney assured fans that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster featuring Aerosmith would be open for fans to enjoy until the end of 2025. We are expecting the closure date to be within the first week of January.

The opening season of Summer 2026 gives a window that is both annoyingly vague yet helpful for planning. Summer ride openings often land around the end of May with Memorial Day (in 2026 that’s the weekend of 23rd to 25th May) or possibly the end of June to coincide with American Summer holidays. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened in Disney World on 28th June 2024. It’s all honestly just speculation right now.

Our best advice is to book your Walt Disney World trip for late Summer / early Autumn 2026 if you’re keen to experience Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster featuring The Muppets in 2026.
