Virgin Atlantic has confirmed to us directly and to customers via a response on X that they will be moving from Terminal A to Terminal C at Orlando International Airport, MCO, on April 28th 2026.
This change brings Virgin in line with other UK airlines currently using Terminal C at MCO, including British Airways and Norse. (TUI flies to Florida from the UK too, but its Orlando-area services typically use Melbourne Orlando International Airport (MLB) rather than MCO.) This news comes following the recent news that Virgin will be increasing flights from Manchester this summer in time for the school holidays.

Yet in the same feed on X a day later, the response from Virgin Atlantic to the same question, was that “all their information is showing Terminal A at the moment”.

However, when we contacted the airline on the 6th February 2006, we were informed that there was a move, but just that the date would be April 2026. They said:
"We are moving over to there [Terminal C] at some point in April"
No formal announcement has been made b Virgin Atlantic about the move to Terminal C and they have not yet changed the information on their website. With that said customer service are confirming that Virgin Atlantic are going to be operating out of Terminal C at MCO from April 2026.
How this affects UK travellers to Orlando MCO
The flight route isn’t going to change, only the Terminal you fly into and out of at Orlando (MCO). This means your travel-day at Orlando will look, and feel, a bit different than it did when Virgin were flying into Terminal A.
Check-in & bag drop: Virgin will move from the current terminal set-up to Terminal C, so drop-offs and pick-ups will need to be booked from and to Terminal C
Drop-offs: taxis/Uber/Lyft and private transfers can be booked for Terminal C drop-off points once the switch happens
Pick-ups: meet-and-greets, hotel shuttles and private drivers will need to collect from Terminal C
If you go to the Terminal A/B complex in error, don’t worry, it will just add time on to your check-in or departure process. We always recommend leaving plenty of time for airport check-ins for this reason. There is a connecting people mover service between the Terminals.
Changing terminals: a new experience
Virgin Atlantic will continue to fly into Terminal A until the change in April. Virgin has been flying direct into Terminal A at MCO from the UK for over 33 years. The direct route from Gatwick can be dated as far back as May 1992. Virgin has also been the only UK airline operating a direct route into Terminal A since Terminal C opened in late September 2022, when BA, Aer Lingus, and Norse moved across.
Once Virgin moves, there will be no direct routes from the UK flying into Terminal A/B complex. This means seeing that iconic carpet in Terminal B, that gives many UK to Orlando visitors that nostalgic feeling of coming home, will be gone.
For UK visitors, this change will give you access to new shops and restaurant experiences, that offer a little more than you currently find in Terminal A, including the two storey Universal shop with Harry Potter merchandise upstairs.
How does this affect resort transfers?
Your journey to resorts in Orlando will be similar and the same popular transfer options UK visitors rely on are available from Terminal C. If you are travelling in April, as mentioned above, you can connect to the main A/B terminal complex for any bookings you have already made. When the change over date is confirmed, you can look to make changes to save the transfer.
Does Mears Connect Operate from Terminal C, (MCO)?
Yes, Mears Connect serves both the main terminal complex and Terminal C at MCO, with check-in on Level 1 (Ground Transportation). This means that you will still be able to easily book and use the Mears Connect service.
Hire Cars from Terminal C
You will still be able to book a hire car and collect a Visitor Toll Pass from Terminal C, so this will not impact your onward journey. Terminal C has its own on-site rental set-up and the big name companies like Budget and Alamo are there.
It’s easy to get to and well signed:
From baggage claim you’ll follow signs for "Parking Garage C / Rental Cars".
The rental area serving Terminal C is connected to Garage C, so you'll be directed into the garage connector rather than out to kerbside transport.
Then go to the Rental Car Counters on Terminal C, Level 4 (by the entrance to Garage C).
When will the exact date be confirmed?
Virgin told us the move will be "at some point in April 2026", but a precise date has not yet been issued. We'll update this article as soon as Virgin (or MCO) publishes the final switch date.
Last updated: 6th February 2026 (confirmed with Virgin Atlantic - April 2026, date TBC). We will update this article further when the date for change over is confirmed from Virgin.
Stay up to date.
