Starlink Wi-Fi coming to Virgin Atlantic Flights

From 2026, Virgin will start rolling out Starlink Wi-FI, (the speedy satellite service already used by airlines like Qatar to provide guests with onboard Wi-Fi). By the end of 2027, the entire fleet will be connected making long haul travel that bit nicer.

"In a first for any UK airline, we'll soon have free, streaming quality, unlimited, fleet-wide W-Fi. Together with Starlink, we are delighted to provide our guests with the best connectivity in the skies"

What This Means For UK to Florida Travellers

Instead of paying the current fee of £20.99 for sub-par Wi-Fi, you should be able to sit and enjoy all the benefits of the internet just as you would sitting in the lounge at home.

Ms Fitzpatrick continued to say that guests onboard will experience a “home away from home experience, allowing customers to connect seamlessly, from the moment they board the aircraft, enjoying the same quality in the air as they do on the ground.”

This means that while flying to Walt Disney World from the UK with Virgin Atlantic guests can expect the following once the upgrades have been completed:

  • Stream Disney+ and enjoy your favourite Disney shows before you land in Orlando

  • Watch Netflix

  • Do work: get yourself holiday ready while you’re on the plane making holiday prep a bit less stressful

  • Keep the kids entertained with YouTube or gaming

  • Stay in touch with family and friends back home on the ground.

And the best part is it won’t be limited or slow. Virgin is promising fast, reliable, and unlimited Wi-Fi for all Flying Club Members. You might be thinking, ah-ha, thought this sounded too good to be true! But it really isn’t.

What Virgin Atlantic Flights Will Offer UK Travellers

For UK families looking to book flights for their Walt Disney World trip in the next two years these changes may make Virgin an even more appealing choice.

With free Wi-Fi flying will be less stressful as people have to prepare less for their journey. Downloading shows and films to keep kids and adults entertained will be unnecessary, reducing stress levels and packing prep.

With more premium economy seats there will be more chances to upgrade, more leg room, and more comfort available.

A fresher fleet will mean more comfort all round and a better flying experience.

Virgin is clearly investing to stay the top choice for long-haul UK travellers, and if a Disney World or Orlando holiday is on your radar, that’s good news.

Virgin Atlantic is doubling down on being a premium, family-friendly, and tech-savvy airline. When it comes to booking your next trip, you could be flying on a newer plane, streaming your favourite shows, and enjoying a smoother travel experience from start to finish all included in the price of your airfare.
