London Landmarks Review
As the 10 second countdown began on the TV this morning as I waited for this show to start, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. As a self-proclaimed Disney Adult, I was delighted that Disney UK were making this series, but also a little trepidatious. The show is fast paced, with both locations and facts flying by. That is however the whole premise of this first episode London Landmarks. Maddie Moate is tasked with the job of getting to all the London Landmarks associated with Disney films in just one day.
The speed with which she flies through London is matched by the brevity of shots and information. It really does make you feel like you are on a whirlwind. Her mission was to visit all the London Landmarks associated with Disney films set in the UK in one day. Now you may not think there are many films, but actually there are quite a few.

I won’t spoil the journey, but expect to find references to 101 Dalmatians, Cruella, and The Parent Trap among others. This episode doesn’t visit every ‘landmark’, even though Maddie’s summarising list feels long, and it is a point the person behind the camera points out in a deadpan voice. They say: “You forgot Belgrave Square for Mary Poppins”. The point this brings home is that there really is so much Disney magic to find in London.
Maddie is an energetic presenter and has that enthusiasm you see in the presenters who do American series. Her delight is infectious and I do think she is a great choice for the series. I’d have just liked it to be a bit longer with some more information. I still associate Maddie Moate with the Cbeebies series ‘Do You Know’ that explains how things work, and I would have loved her to do that a bit here. Afterall, that is what she was famous for doing on Cbeebies.
Conclusion
Bringing many movie locations together this YouTube episode is designed to give you very quick one sentence facts at each stop. It could have been double the time or even more, giving fans more information and more Disney joy. With that said, I will definitely be tuning in for the next episode. As it is, it’s an enjoyable watch with a cup of tea, that reminds you there is plenty of Disney magic to be found right here in the UK.
