Mapping the Magic is the new YouTube first Disney UK show offering behind the scenes insights into Disney films set here in the UK. The show’s hosted by ex-Cbeebies presenter Maddie Moate, so we are expecting a high energy show. If you’re looking for some Disney UK magic and excited to find out about Disney films located here in the UK this could be just the magic for you.
The short to promote the show dropped on Friday 17th October on YouTube and the show is premiering at 9am the very next day. Eager UK Disney fans don’t have long to wait!
What To Expect
Here’s what to expect from the series according to the details on YouTube: “Mapping the Magic is a brand NEW YouTube first series set right here in the UK, exp[l]oring the real world inspirations, hidden histories and timeless stories behind Disney's most beloved films. Hosted by Maddie Moate.”
This type of show is something many UK Disney fans will likely enjoy, as there is already a plethora of Instagram content on this kind of factual based information.
The show premiere’s from 9am, and the team at Riding the Magic will of course be watching, so expect a review on Saturday evening.
The first episode is going to feature: “From spotting 101 Dalmatians in Regent’s Park, to feeding the birds Mary Poppins-style at St Paul’s, Maddie uncovers all the Disney magic hidden across the capital - in just one day.”
Starting in London, much as they have with the Disney Store pop-ups as part of the Selfridge’s collaboration, hopefully this series will venture beyond the wall of the M25.
Disney UK Film Locations
It’s exciting to see behind the scenes of films set in the UK, and it got us thinking about the locations we would like to see from Disney films.
Alice in Wonderland has strong ties to the UK so it will be interesting to see if they visit locations to explore that film. A trip to Wedgwood in Staffordshire would be an interesting nod to Mary Poppins 2, which featured Wedgwood contents, and would be an interesting history.
Films such as Maleficent and a lot of the new Marvel films are filmed in the UK now, so an episode exploring that connection could be on the cards. We’re excited to see where the series goes.
For Disney fans all across the UK this series is something to look forward to, and it may even help alleviate those Disney blues for anyone suffering right now.
