Manchester Airport (MAN) has opened a new premium lounge, The Executive by Escape Lounges, in Terminal 2; said to be home to the UK’s first airport carvery. Focusing on dining experiences and sourcing high-end local food, this is aiming to offer a more premium airport lounge experience. When you’re flying to Florida, heading for a Disney World holiday, is this the kind of experience to pay for before a 9-hour flight?

This lounge is situated in the centre of Terminal 2, offering an escape from the hustle and bustle. Just as the UK school summer holidays start, is this one for families or better for just the adults? With the premium lounge experience comes with a premium price tag, and if you don’t book in advance you’ll pay considerably more.

What Is The Executive By Escape Lounges?

The Executive is a new premium lounge concept from Escape Lounges, run by CAVU, part of Manchester Airports Group. Located in the upper level of Terminal 2 just before the standard Escape Lounge, this lounge will offer a more exclusive experience with chef-led dining options that also support local Manchester businesses. In a luxury twist the lounge is also offering guests a “One Last Treat” gumball machine when leaving for their flight, where you get tokens for either locally inspired sweets, rewards, or free future experiences.

It’s available to all guests flying out of Terminal 2, not just those with Florida flights. But for UK travellers heading to Florida this lounge experience looks set to offer something more than a traditional lounge experience.

Sarah Marshall, General Manager at The Executive by Escape Lounges said:

"something genuinely different. The Executive has been designed to feel special from the moment guests arrive, with hospitality, food and thoughtful details at the centre of the experience."

Expect to find Manchester woven through the design of the decor with bee-inspired details to artwork from local artists.

What are the food and drink options?

The headline for this Executive Lounge is the carvery experience which will offer a rotating daily roast (pork, beef, chicken or turkey) with Yorkshire puddings and gravy. The Executive Lounge will also offer live cooking and made-to-order dishes.

The Executive Lounge is focusing on offering a dining experience that sets it apart from the other lounges on offer in Manchester Airport’s Terminal 2. Inside, there are distinct dining experiences, and the price you pay will reflect the dining options you have:

  • Leaf & Loaf offers freshly baked pastries, bakery favourites and grazing options

  • The Humm offers lighter dishes and deli-style options

  • The Loom is where you’ll find the carvery option alongside chef-led hot dishes and live cooking

  • The bar serves wine, beer, spirits, barista coffee and soft drinks, all included in the entry price.

  • The Boll is coming in Autumn 2026 and will be an upcharge, offering restaurant-style seated dining with table service and a chef-led menu.

The food being served champions local Manchester suppliers including:

  • Cheese sourced from Chorlton Cheesemongers

  • Coffee from Manchester-based Ground Effect Coffee Roasters

  • Manchester Gin from Spirit of Manchester Distillery

  • Beers from Manchester's historic JW Lees Brewery

  • Bakery products supplied by Martins Bakery

  • Ice cream from Grandpa Greene's in Uppermill

This should offer Lounge guests a different, luxury relaxing dining experience that feels like stepping out of the airport’s busy Terminal before boarding your flight.

How long do you get in The Executive Lounge?

You can get into the Lounge around 2 and a half hours before your flight time, with the lounge experience lasting up to 2 hours. For UK visitors looking for a calmer Terminal 2 experience, and to eat before boarding this is an option to consider.

How much does The Executive by Escape Lounges cost?

The Executive is the premium option, so pricing in advance is £57.99 per adult and £45.99 per child aged 3-15 this summer when checked. Walk-in pricing is advertised as £69.99 per person. Pre-booking at least 24 hours in advance will save £12 a person, and guarantee your experience.

Pricing for The Boll experience is being advertised at £82.99 per person, for the chef-led seated dining experience opening in Autumn 2026.

Cost for a family of 4 this summer

For a family of four with two children aged 15 and under thinking of adding this experience to their departure day at Manchester Airport, the cost to book in advance will be £203.97.

The website states that this lounge is not currently taking group bookings so if a party is larger than 6, you would need to all book separately.

Is this lounge worth it before a Disney World flight?

For people looking for a quieter departure day experience, who want to eat properly before their flight, this may be an option worth considering, but it comes with a price tag. For families looking for a quick bite and a mooch around the shops with the children before boarding the flight, this lounge experience isn’t going to be for you.

If, however, you want to sit somewhere quiet, catch-up on some emails, and want to eat and drink properly before your 9-hour flight to Florida this is an option to consider. Possibly more tailored to Disney adults, people celebrating, or families looking to escape the noise of Terminal 2 departures area then this is for you.

This is an experience that gives UK visitors heading to Florida more choice. Chris Woodroofe, Managing Director at Manchester Airport, said:

"Passengers increasingly want choice when they travel, and this new lounge provides something genuinely different. It combines premium hospitality with a distinctive food and drink experience, giving passengers another great way to start their journey."
Chris Woodroofe, Managing Director at Manchester Airport

This lounge is about UK visitors to Florida having another lounge choice to be able to tailor their trip to the experience they want.

Lounge Options Expending At Manchester For Orlando Travellers

Terminal 2 is now the airport's super-terminal, handling roughly three-quarters of all passengers after a multi-billion-pound rebuild. At the same time, capacity to Orlando is growing: Virgin Atlantic is increasing its Manchester-Orlando flying by around 12% for peak summer for example. More seats to Florida means more UK Disney families funnelling through Terminal 2 and more competition for lounge space especially in the school-holiday weeks. If you like the sound of The Executive, that's the argument for booking early rather than chancing a walk-up on the day.

Magic In A Minute

Manchester Airport has opened The Executive by Escape Lounges in Terminal 2. It’s a premium lounge experience with a food focus, that proudly shares it’s ties to the Manchester area through ingredients and design. This lunge option a way for UK to Florida travellers to soften a long, early travel morning before a nine-hour flight, but at that price it's best treated as a considered treat and worth pre-booking rather than chancing a walk-up.
